Assume that’s why Rob Kelly has been brought in to bring them league experience. Take him a few weeks I assume to bring his ideas to the table. Hope we can get minutes to the likes of Fletcher and MJ on TuesdayApril1972 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 6:00 pmAgreed. I think it’s a mentality thing coming from the manager. He’s operating at a higher level than he has previously and there are some big clubs and big grounds in this league. But the quicker he realises that doesn’t translate into them being something to be scared of the better. If he doesn’t then we are doomed!theotherbarrow wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 5:45 pm
Spot on, need to be a lot more positive from the start...

Same game plan, same result every game.
Something has to change & soon.

Hopefully RK can get rid of the negativity with which we start every game.
Like rabbits in headlights until the game is all but lost then a surge to give us hope for the next game.
It’s the hope that kills you.

The bed wetting here is off the scale at times, we’re only 8 games in.
The team is capable, as others have mentioned we just need to have a go right from the off.

Re: Bristol Rovers v Barrow match thread
Pathetic first half absolutely no mentality this isn’t the big bad barrow team we all got it bigged up to be from Whing and WOOD. - Wood takes just the same blame , even if he has paid for his little golden seat.
Watch the centre half for the second goal I have never ever seen anything like it, it’s absolutely amateur. He drops off the danger area while their forward is coming in to defend the goal line leaving the free man. Pathetic no idea what they are being coached or they’re just thick.
We can’t just keep rinse and repeating hoping it sticks. I fear for the attendance next week be lucky if there’s 2.5k Barrow fans there. We are just watching the same dross every week & either find something to blame or say well we did have a good spell.
Reaction needed as if we lose again next week it’s going to go sour fast.

No it isn't on what basis are your observations based on ? We struggled pre season which everyone noted yes we've injuries BUT that doesn't hide from the fact that the Manager decides how we set up etc this scenario is happening too often!BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 6:38 pm The bed wetting here is off the scale at times, we’re only 8 games in.

I agree it's only 8 games in, but the pattern has to change, more often than not, most teams that start the season poorly, end up at or near the bottom.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 6:38 pm The bed wetting here is off the scale at times, we’re only 8 games in.

Scott Smith played 69 games in two seasons in EFL 1, so he must have something. Perhaps lost his way but it is too soon to write him off.
Re: Bristol Rovers v Barrow match thread
He looks totally lost hooked today after losing the ball, being outfought and just looking anything but a league 2 let alone a league 1 player. Earing also has been poor for me, both are a yard too slow not strong enough and don’t win enough first or second balls. Fletcher looked good and gives us presence and hopefully harper will be back soon as we’re losing too much in midfield right now.

Harper whilst looking strong is also injury prone!Scott5 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 7:12 pmHe looks totally lost hooked today after losing the ball, being outfought and just looking anything but a league 2 let alone a league 1 player. And we've lost 6 of them and been far from convincing in the two wins. Listening to Whing post match and he’s saying the same things he said after going three down against Swindon, in other words there has been no improvement or learning from that game. The stats at Half time were terrible. Whing- “We've got to work harder”, no, you've got to start playing for 90 minutes and then you might give yourselves a chance to get something from the game.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 6:38 pm The bed wetting here is off the scale at times, we’re only 8 games in.

This is where it could get clouded, who do the players listen to for match day instructions, who is the man in charge. It’s Whing.

Nice guy but he's clueless can't get the formation right, can't motivate the team to start with an intensity, we've no energy apart from a couple of player's and we're a right back and a decent centre half short !Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 7:37 pmAnd we've lost 6 of them and been far from convincing in the two wins.
