Not much chance of that until you get rid of a certain man who will probably leave when we get relegated.Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:02 pm I’d jump at the opportunity to get Pete Wild back in the building ASAP. He’s a great fit for Barrow even if we do go down.

Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
The formation is one thing but if players are not going to put in key tackles and let the opposition play it around them unchallenged then it doesn't matter what formation you play, or if you've made one interception 10 minutes earlier, it’s got to be all game. They cannot let up and think someone else’s will put in a tackle. The build up to the second and third goals today is players not prepared to put a foot in.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Get wild back now. Even if we get relegated he’s a great fit. So in your eyes he would come in now 4 points above the drop with a game in hand get us relegated and still be your man ok. Let’s not forget how his time here finished absolutely bottled the play offs. Couldn’t win one game in however many to get us over the line with a far superior squad. What makes you think he’s got the bottle for a relegation fight. Hes bottled it at every club he’s been atBarrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:02 pm Our Head Coach was totally responsible for that result today. Took off the outstanding player and put one on totally devoid of confidence. I also thought Gally post match interview with AJ was a rabbit in headlamps job. I feel less confident of our ability to survive. I’d jump at the opportunity to get Pete Wild back in the building ASAP. He’s a great fit for Barrow even if we do go down.

Yes very few Managers who come back to a club rarely are as successful the second time.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:19 pmGet wild back now. Even if we get relegated he’s a great fit. Don Mcevoy came to Barrow and got us promoted for the only time in the EFL in 1966-67.
He then came back again in 1971 but was sacked.
Worrying times a rookie Manager with a team with no centre forward and a team made up of strangers .

All fair points BB but at least he bottled it at the right end of the table. Safe pair of hands imo.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:19 pmGet wild back now. Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
Another week of conceding pathetic goals , Swindon are higher up in the league and are a better team there’s no denying that but the fact we are still conceding basic goals that you’d be disappointed if you conceded down Newby terrace says it all.
As Gallagher said - embarrassment.
How many times have we heard that in the last year or so…

This group of players are on manager 3. 4 if you count Clemance last season they need to stand up and take accountability or do oneBarrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:40 pmAll fair points BB but at least he bottled it at the right end of the table. I’m 100% with you on this one we are as soft as the proverbial, we are so easy to take points off.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:48 pmThis group of players are on manager 3. 4 if you count Clemance last season they need to stand up and take accountability or do oneBarrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:40 pm

Let’s be honest even if we were 2-0 with 5 to go we are sh!tting ourselves. Swindon saw that game out far too easy.
Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
The goals we concede week in week out are shocking. We concede the softest of goals and they all put their heads down and look away instead of holding each other to account. They stand off players and let them have three four touches before making a pass, Four touches is three too many, get into them. Its the same every game now, we are conceding soft goals week after week

Can’t disagree Jonty I think that’s why Whingy always set us up too negatively, always looking to get a point rather than lose. I don’t know why we didn’t get Vassel back when he was available, a decent defender at this level and would get you a few goals. Our defence all season has been horrendous far far too many mistakes. As you say not even the basics very very worrying.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 9:02 pm The goals we concede week in week out are shocking. Some crucial games against fellow strugglers coming up and they will hinge on which team is up for a battle. The thing that worries me is that this team does not look like one who would, or could, battle to hang on to a lead when they go ahead.

Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
Just watched the goals in my opinion harper is nowhere near our squad until his attitude changes !!!
Chasing his man down then just stops as he turns towards the box almost to say go on mate take your shot
This is a massive problem in our squad a top quality player would get his foot out and kick the ball away he makes no effort
It’s an absolute disgrace
