Looks like Wood & the rest of the BOD have accepted our fate of hope there’s two worse teams and a bunch of kids solves the issues.

Wasted all our money in the summer on garage and injured wrecks.

Well I think the two teams below us will pull something out of the bag that could seal our fate.
So, it really is do or die now and I really don't think they have the 'do' in them.

Given our lack of finances what or who did you expect them to sign. The club have signed the players they can afford and I’d imagine a few will be loaned to NL sides in the coming days or weeks to help with the wage bill

With our predicament come on ! If we go down the losses the board will incur would pale in significance to say signing a player for say £50,000 !

You're presuming that they have 50k+ to just fork out lying around in a sock drawer

Ian if it's that bad, then what happens if we get relegated?, 1 million pounds in income gone !, travelling costs doubling attendances would drop ( unless we start well ) grants for ground development no where near the same!, I could go on ,we're playing Russian roulette with our club, can't now play a back 4, playing 3 at the back with 1 wingback !,it's an absolute disaster.

It's the club that loses out not the owners. They would just cut the cloth accordingly and we would have a greatly reduced budget all round. Yes it would be a disaster but the club would and will continue.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
Say we break the bank and sign a striker for 100k on a 18m contract, plus wages, and we still go down...
Folk seem to think it's a bottomless pit. And what you're saying maybe true, its if they are willing.

Not sure the two teams are the bottom will better our points total but desperately need to start winning games

A lot have said this tor a while but it should be the director of football going and not constantly the head coaches.

There really is no hiding from our recruitment this summer between (Whing), Wood and Harvey serious questions need to be answered. The process on how we’ve selected this group of players should be under serious scrutiny, you’re never going to get everyone right and it might be easy to say now but the squad we have assembled has so many failings and the signs were their right from the start. A lack of goals being the main thing and going into the season with Walker and Cameron as the only recognised strikers is laughable, we're now in February and the 3rd top goal scorer is a left back with 3 goals which came in the first 7 games of the season! At the back we're a soft touch we're conceding goals for fun with repeated basic errors which we've tried to fix by bringing in kids, is this the answer? I hope so but it doesn't instil confidence. On top of this whilst in a relegation fight we accepted a bid for our number 1 keeper from Bristol Rovers who are below us in the table, make that make sense! In midfield we were never going to replace Gotts, Campbell and Spence but ultimately we are so bad in both boxes!
The first year we came up although arguably lacking quality we had the fight for it the team had a togetherness and worked their nuts off for the club, you don't get that from this squad currently unfortunately.
Hopefully Gallagher can work wonders with this bunch, in reality we're not going to get anything at Notts County, but then the next 8 games will make or break us against teams who are in and around us as our run in certainly isn’t favourable looking at the current league positions

Did we though? We only have the word of a guy managing a relegation rival who knows every trick in the book in unsettling rivals and players. If someone publicly named one of his contracted players in the same way he would be on the phone to the offending manager right away and letting everyone know what he thinks

Rose aside; I wonder if the Stanway money was the January war chest if it happened, perhaps we’ll never know but perhaps Stockton fee for example might have happened if Wyll had gone

Have to agree with that, we're in a relegation fight and bringing young players in and so many of them is asking a lot of them.
No doubt they'll all go on to be good players and Powell looked very impressive on his debut, but Joe Anderson and Thompson struggled a bit on Saturday as did Anderson the week previous. Physically it's a tough league and you need a bit of fight and aggression which we lack.

You are relying on senior pros with young players to help them through and an aging Canavan aside we haven't really got any anyone, Williams is done for the season and we may be relying on a 39 year old Sam Foley to come back in after 6 months out and do a job...
