Well said Sam it wasn’t a Winston Churchill type address but it didn’t need to be. As he said it’s in our hands let’s deal with it and start loving playing football again :scarf: :scarf:
I spotted a copy of @cottingham bluebird's motivational speech in his back pocket.
Don't let the old man in.

All he has to do now is get josh gordon to stay on his feet and play football instead of playing for free kicks

Excellent speech. Pressure is fighting in a war and forced to go over the top when a whistle blows. Winning a football match can’t be described as pressure in that context, it’s all in the head. If the players can get their head space right, I have no doubt we will stay up. Up the Bluebirds.

I know they don’t need to show this but I’m sure Dino and Gally and Whing will have all said the same thing. Get them up on their feet!!, chests puffed out, not sat around they’ve all got to believe in the message. Captain has got to be a leader and keep the message going out on the pitch. It’s over to you lads.

Totally agree...only problem is Canavan has been more hinderance than leader this season. Even turned his back on the away fans rather than face the music.

cottingham bluebird wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:02 pm My motivation speech this should be said in changing rooms do basics show heart and play for each other.

Listen up, everyone.

Right now, people look at the table and they see us near the bottom. They see the losses. They see the doubt. But what they don’t see is what’s inside this room.

They don’t see the hours you’ve trained.
They don’t see the tackles you’ve fought through.
They don’t see the heart you bring every single day.

Being at the bottom doesn’t define you. How you respond does.

Every great comeback in football started exactly where we are right now — with a team that refused to give up. A team that decided that the next 90 minutes would be different.

When we walk onto that pitch today, forget the table. Forget the critics. Forget the last game.

Play for the badge.
Play for the teammate next to you.
Play like this is the moment everything turns around.

Win the first tackle.
Win the first header.
Win the first 50–50 ball.

Because momentum starts with one action, then another, and another. Suddenly the crowd believes. Suddenly the other team feels the pressure. Suddenly the game changes.

Look around this room. These are your brothers. When one of you runs, we all run. When one of you fights, we all fight.

Today isn’t about where we are in the league.

It’s about showing everyone who we really are.

Now get out there, give everything for those 90 minutes, and make them remember one thing:

This team never quits.
UP THE BLUEBIRDS

What in the ChatGPT is going on here?

As unbelievably hard as I think its going to be, Saturday we simply have to back them if we are going to stand any chance of staying up this season. Do they deserve it? Absolutely not but we have 11 cup finals and we need to treat them as such. How we create a positive atmosphere i have no idea but the doom cycle has to end at some point for everyone's sake. We might only have 11 efl games left we might as well try and enjoy them

I and hundreds of others feel your pain but please, please, change your mind and go, 11 matches that could determine the long term future of the club. In a few years time you’ll look back at these bleak times and say well it was crap but at least I stayed and supported them through those dreadful days. You never know on Saturday we might be in for a shock and actually play well. Miracles I’m told do happen now and again.

Agree.
I don't wanna go but 'am' gonna go.
The way I see it - We 'must' stand with the club through its darkest moments to be able to share in the brightest days that 'will' come along - if we stick together.

Come on, lets all get there!

100% get yourself there, as I said in my opening post, players getting slated during the match or walking out to a near empty stadium doesn’t do anyone any good.

I totally get supporters are fed up, it’s been a horrendous season but let’s try and give them the final push. Also, I fully believe Sam is a well respected member of the team…..let’s hope they put in extra effort for him.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

We don't have much support outside our own four walls. Just about every oppo’s fan message you read across social media see’s us a complete shambles,….most want us gone.

Can’t argue with the jibes coming our way, we are a mess, but we need our own fans now more than ever.
