900 is 15% of a 6k capacity. That’s the current away capacity and thats all any team would get…. I don't think you can switch now anyway.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 4:43 pmAdam I think you are making a good point about why we need this new stadium that the clubs, council and Team Barrow are all talking about. As you intimate we are losing serious money because we can't accommodate a big away following. What if we drew Liverpool at home in the FA Cup? Switch to Anfield? That would really put the foot among the pigeons!

Re: Carlisle tickets now on sale
Quite right Adam, plus the logistics inside the ground (toilets and food kiosks etc, you need to provide so many per x number of fans), there just isnt room to provide more of these, if there was I am sure the club would have done so when the redevelopment of that corner was done a few years ago.Adam29 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 3:35 pm It isn’t possible to do.
The logistics make it impossible.
It’s not as simple as just give them the stand and crack on.
The entry and exit from the ground would need looking into - the entrance to the pop side is round the back by the garage but the entrance and exit from the HSE is also at the corner by the garage so you’d have supporters overlapping it would be chaos
The fact you would also then have to have the side the part between the pop side and the HSE would have to be closed as you would need a no man’s land between the home and away supporters so it would reduce the home support
And then the extra policing that would be required would pretty much wipe out the extra money you’d get in

I couldn’t agree more. Even the local MP mentioned it in her weekly column the other week. Hopefully the talks are positiveWintergreen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 4:43 pmAdam I think you are making a good point about why we need this new stadium that the clubs, council and Team Barrow are all talking about. The only way our club could maximise ticket sales is to give up the main stand and the two temporary permanent stands up, ludicrous idea right!

If we played Liverpool at home, they would receive the exact same allocation Carlisle have done and we would sell out the rest of the ground. Simple really?Wintergreen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 4:43 pmAdam I think you are making a good point about why we need this new stadium that the clubs, council and Team Barrow are all talking about. Re: Carlisle tickets now on sale
900 is enough, it'll be an absolute nightmare as it is because of where the away fans are situated, getting back across the bridge is farcical, the police would also object because of the logistics!

We don't need a bigger stadium.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 4:43 pmAdam I think you are making a good point about why we need this new stadium that the clubs, council and Team Barrow are all talking about. These one off games where big crowds are expected are few and far between.
Anyway, Carlisle United will be in the Championship in about three or four seasons and god knows where we will be.

Re: Carlisle tickets now on sale
Mall, we all love the old place and have had some fantastic experiences therein for most of our lives, but as this little tangent has illustrated Holker Street is adverse to making money. I would imagine that it is one of the worst grounds in the National League and has changed little in over 100 years. When we were going thru a bad patch a while back someone told Paul Hornby (who was with his family) in the stand to eff off out of the club. Now many people might have said enough is enough at that and thrown the towel in; thankfully he has stayed with it. My point is we are perhaps one resignation away from oblivion. From what we hear an opportunity might be coming our way for a new stadium, with multi-users, serving the community and making the football club more sustainable and not forever relying on individual philanthropy.

Carlisle social media at it. They know fine well what the away capacity is and the rules around segregation policing, facilities etc.

Carlisle fans also won’t go in the home end as they don’t every year.
There is a FEW lads willing to resolve if they do!

And they bascially did their own fans over by releasing them 15 mins early. If some fancy going in the home end as has been suggested i hope they get a good hiding
