Good days work today chaps.
Louie and me will be working on the roof tomorrow Elaine don't worry about that hes just been busy with work. I will get down more this week now I am a free man so if you want an apprentice Elaine I can give you a hand.
If you get time, can you look at the portable toilet at the other end of the stand with the roof membrane hanging off
This was added to the minutes of the last meeting as urgent by John......simply have a look for a quick fix or get stuck into Spirits wallet for the proper job.
Looks like another cracking shift down there today so hats off to everyone involved while I get over my exhaustion with Guiness!!..on holiday really!
Next 2 Tuesdays have matches so open to proposals for midweek sessions

This isn't going to be a quick fix job Tommy as the ceiling has collapsed inside and I was worried in case there's fibre glass or anything harmful amongst the rubble.

I know Louie will have been busy Chris but there's gaps in the roof and I didn't fancy my chances of climbing up there to put the sheeting over as a temporary measure. He had escaped to Piel Island with a tent when he heard I was looking for him, I believe.
Thanks for your offer of help Chris. It is mainly painting that we need help with now. My apprentice bahamasbluebird is hit and miss. You would think he is here from Qatar on a holiday or something. I even had to go with him to Penrith to make sure he didn't enjoy himself. Shocking these young ones.
I will be inside washing walls down this week.
THE ICE BATH HAS ARRIVED. Me and Les might try it out today but I hope he brings his swimming trunks---nuddies not allowed.

Jonty wrote:Ian- those two small windows that we are going to replace- can we have them as opening lights because they are right in the shower area and will help keep things damp free. There's no fresh air can get in there. Just a little bit extra for opening light windows but would be well worth it.
I would think they've already been ordered Jonty, beside's, to do them as opening windows would (I think) require the whole thing to be replaced & as far as I know Stu just ordered the unit (glass) Then again I haven't spoke to Stu since so I'm not too sure.

A lot of people are still tied up with the bigger job's but there's still plenty to do before the season starts, we all want the ground looking as good as possible don't we?

We really need for the next couple of Sunday morning's or Tuesday evenings (not tomorrow obviously) more bodies to help out with either the painting of the pitch perimiter walls or just general picking up the dead weeds, clearing rubbish & just shifting stuff around.
As far as I can make out there's three Sunday mornings & three Tuesday evenings available to get all of this done, of course the work will carry on after the season starts but it'd be good to get just the easier job's out of the way....we just need help to do it.
I'm away on Sunday afternoon (& I'll probably get hung drawn & quarterd for this) but I'll quite happily go down & open up & show anyone who can make it where things are & what needs doing.
I'm sure there'll be the usual suspect there but they're going to need some help, anyone.......

Easy jobs but they just need a few hours of volunteering.

Ian......I had a nice lie in sunday.....you have one this sunday, I,ll pop down and open up 9-12..no need for hung drawn and quartered,
unless its by Elaine in those green wellies and yellow rubber gloves!!! we are part of a successful team remember....just tell us in full prior so I can run around and organise.
Looked at alternative materials around the wood yards today for the changing room modules but nothing really out there.
Going with 15mm thick melamine 150 wide 2440 long in beech at the moment £9.99 a length from wickes
Also waiting for a quote from a firm for 8 x 4 sheets of 4 mm acrylic for the tunnel covering...could be expensive...anyone else in the know in these areas?
If we cover the tunnel in clear sheeting, this will allow fans to stand in that area during matches and satisfy FA and H&S requirements

Thinking about that Tommy, if it's THAT expensive I wonder how it'd looked done in the left over blue cladding?

No replies on the plaque sponsorship for the X bar end, anyone interested?

Regarding the tunnel & Just in case anyone doesn't know what we're on about here.

We asked for a way around doing away with that daft hatched area by the tunnel, we were told it had to do with not only abuse from supporters to visiting players (although some deserved it...some of our own did last season) but it was because people were actually spitting on players! That's the reason it either stays like it is or we spend money (that we could do without spending) on changing something.
The money it's going to cost could have been spent on far better thing's to improve the ground.

So well done to those who thought it was clever doing that

I might have some goz-proof sheeting somewhere in the shed I’ll have a butchers and I might still have my old 6ft ‘Welcome To Hell’ sign that I used to erect when the mother-in-law was coming to stay. That would look well in the tunnel...leave it with me.

You make the call next week ...we are looking at everything at present which will satisfy mike forsyth on the tunnel so no rush.
I got an email from Ian today saying there was a pile of doors up against the wall at BCD down by Morrisons, so after discussing a few options about changing room wood etc, I asked if we could have the doors for various jobs around the ground and I ended up taking them straight to the workshop for no cost...9 of them.
A few coats of Chelsea blue and they will look like new
