They looked decent to me and I'd be surprised if they threaten the relegation spots. Deeney faded after a very bright opening and the lad Maddox was excellent.
I certainly don't think we were lucky. We did what others have done to us in the past: score a couple and then invite us to try and break them down. They got through a couple of times but that's why you have a goalkeeper. Job done.

On a side note, I'd usually expect to see comment from ex-Barrovian and now FGR supporter @Fartvs Antiqvvs but he is strangely silent. Hope he's OK.

Old Fartus seems to be alive and well as he commented on the FGR forum that they had been sunk by a Trident submarine (I think he was born in Barrow but moved down there?).

Was a strange watch wasn’t it, very good away performance, FGR are the worst I’ve seen this season, chaotic with no structure to their play, definitely going down. I pretty much agree with this. I was very confused about people saying FGR played well, or were worth a win, or really caused us many problems. They were absolutely dog! I would not have been surprised to hear of a sacking straight after the match.
That was a solid BAFC performance, in the midst of a heavy month. Onwards and upwards.

A few comments about Worral not being up to standard surprise me. Put the ball in for foleys goal last night and Whitfield against Mk dons. The balls are in the right areas just needs people on the end of them to do the business. Solid result and on to Saturday

Thought we were excellent for the most part last night, first 20 they couldn't get anywhere near us we were good in possession and when without the ball were aggressive and won it back forcing them into mistakes. Got into some good positions and but for the cross bar would've been 3 up at halftime and out of sight. To their credit FGR improved and didn't look too bad in the second half but I think was Barrow dropping off a bit as much as anything.
They have some decent players and were always going to have chances but Deeney was denied three times by good Farman saves one on one, and Morton alongside him upfront looked like he'd never seen a football before. Defensively we looked solid though, Canavan makes everything seem easy and Ray and Chester solid next to him, the latter has settled in well after a shaky couple of first games showing his experience. Word for Newby too who had a good game in a position that I still don't think is made for him, but with Tiensa out he's got a chance now.
Probably the only downside is that we did drop off a bit possibly with an eye on Salford and when we took Campbell off, White isn't quite the same in midfield although puts a shift in. Garner looks shot of confidence though and when Proctor is back I can't see him getting a look in.
Worrall I thought did really well was a threat running forwards and put some good crosses in, and when he needed to worked hard going back too although that's not his strength.
If only Foley was 5 years younger he's a great player on his day energy, drive, can pass and tackle but playing that way he can't last a full 90.

Forest Green were awful in that first half at times but they did improve and looking at their squad you'd expect them to be ok. MacAllister was very tidy I thought in midfield for them and Stevens will get them goals. What a contrast to when we went there nearly 2 years ago when they won the league and we were at the bottom...ground is even more soulless now though even the drummer gave up after 2-0.
