Im not overlooking your valid your points here btw. Im just highlighting what the in-game match stats are picking out.Bingley Blue wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 8:12 pmWe are 8th in the form table (last six games). Goal difference wise in the form table we are 8th as well. We are moving up the table. Things can always be better but those stats I’m quoting - which I haven’t picked out of thin air either - shows we are travelling in the right direction.Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 6:48 pm
Thats an improvement, yes, but over the first 15 league games we have the fifth lowest “goals for” and the second lowest “shots on target” ratio. Think there might be a link there don't you.
The fact we are sitting 15th in the league is very much down to our defensive record which is better than 4 of the current top 7
Im not picking these out of thin air, these are the game stats out there and when Whing says “there’s loads we can improve on” this will be one of these areas.

Re: Barrow v Grimsby town match thread
I wonder if Andy Cook will be moved on because of his long layoff.
He maybe a good target as he is coming to the end of his career .

Off the top of my head players who've returned to Barrow since we came into the league (including those who arrived initially with us already a league club) include Gordon, Newby, Rooney and Whitfield. I have a feeling that both Josh Kay and Rory Feeley were kind of released and came back. There was a forward whose name escapes me.
Have any of these returns made you happy Pedro?

Richie Bennett was the returning forward I couldn't recall, apologies.
Tyler Smith is another forward who returned I'd overlooked.

Dont think any of those matches Cook who actually does the business wherever he goes .StephenD wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 11:33 pmOff the top of my head players who've returned to Barrow since we came into the league (including those who arrived initially with us already a league club) include Gordon, Newby, Rooney and Whitfield. He is a mercenary .
Re: Barrow v Grimsby town match thread
I would say look at Cooks goalscoring since leaving Barrow .
Some bad spells but some good ones. over a goal every second game.
Bennett nor Walker had that consistency.
He does not seem to be in Bradford plans was onlythinking him and Gordon would do well
Re: Barrow v Grimsby town match thread
None of those have had a consistent goal scoring recordStephenD wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 11:33 pmOff the top of my head players who've returned to Barrow since we came into the league (including those who arrived initially with us already a league club) include Gordon, Newby, Rooney and Whitfield. Look at his record since leaving Barrow..
Cook who at some clubs after leaving us has managed more than a goal every other game.
I realise strikers we have had normally come from Blackpool beach.
Look at Cooks record since leaving.

35. I think the “legs gone” brigade might go into meltdown if we have Cook and Hemmings upfront.Fazered wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 2:34 amHow old is he now?Pedro wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 1:48 am

It’s a sad state of affairs when the Legs Gone Brigade’s heads have gone and the Away Coach Brigade’s knees have gone. What next - the base coming off the fanbase? Hornby needs to step in PDQ.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
