I think raising the wall is a cracking idea, and there would be scope for improving it in the future with some kind of roof.
Defo one for the college brickies

Uncle Peter stop being greedy. You haven't got the wall yet and now you are after a roof.
Do be honest I think the wall raised and painted will be o.k. How robust is this cladding? It will have to withstand people leaning against it etc.

Last reminder for anyone free for a few hours tomorrow.
We'll be there from 1:00pm & any help will go a long way to making the ground look that bit better for the start of the season. No particular skills needed as the main jobs for over the weekend are pitch perimiter wall painting & a general tidy up.

Wouldn't need to be cladded over at all, besides it may be too close to the pitch and take a battering from the wayward shots, but as Boysie has now gone you never know.

I will probably be back on the seat cleaning today Jonty if I finish inside the clubhouse early. I have kindly invited Danielle to help us and her reply was "cleaning"?!!!!!!

Yes, let me introduce you to it my dear as that word hasn't entered her vocabulary yet.

Nice afternoon down there today although disappointing turn-out, shame really as this is the final push before the league games start.
If the weather turns for Sunday (which it's forecast to) that'll be a day wasted painting-wise & we could have had so much done this afternoon with a few more pairs of hands, although Friday afternoon is a work day for most so hopefully we'll make up for it on Sunday.
Big Al was busy picking up rubbish, I honestly don't know how so much crap ends up blowing around there especially when we've only had a few hundred there on the friendlies.
Elaine was cleaning under the main stand. I caught sight of her sat in the home dugout having her sarnies & tea thinking no one was watching & looking every bit like she was dreaming of ordering them trialists about tomorrow
Bahamasbluebird & Exile were busy painting the wall by the disabled area, slowly getting around the ground now & this is one area we could have done with a few more people on - still over two thirds of the walls to do.
Myself & Steve put the HSE sign up

Everyone down there seemed to think it looked the part including Tony Keen who came over to mention it & later Keith Allen & Dave Ryder.
Sunday should be on for anyone who can spare a few hours from 9:00am if it looks like it'll rain there are plenty of areas that just need a tidy up, weeding or stuff shifting around.

I can do some painting if it doesn't rain on a few days week after next.

Bahamasbluebird and Exile were painting until 6pm. A good 6 hour shift. They took the boards down and scraped the loose paint off and then painted the walls. They got a good bit done and make a good team.
Bb and me cleaned the Vaughan car park area and looked like probationers on Community Service. I cut a dash in my green jackboots-- er I mean wellies and yellow rubber gloves. Spirit driving past and shouting from his car almost gave me a heart attack.
Bb has also hand delivered almost all the AGM letters in the local area and has covered 26 miles on his pushbike. Great lad. I hope he is enjoying his holiday.

Well done Ryan.
Gareth and Craig cut and marked the pitch and it is a big improvement to what it was.
I cleaned the directors place and then John McKay appeared with a monster carpet shampooer and did his "shake and vac" bit on the carpets in there and then there was no stopping him---carried on in the clubhouse. Carpet slippers to be worn in future.
We can take great pride in the difference in such a short space of time
Delivering some AGM letters on the way home and I was called over the road and asked if I was a debt collector. On explaining what I was doing it turned out the man is from Accrington so was delighted to know we are playing Accrington tomorrow and is going to attend the game, probably with the kids too.
