That's completely meaningless. Clearly League 2 believe that it is reasonable to promote teams or have play-offs in those same circumstances. Get Mr Diamond-Geezer on speed dial!

League 2 haven’t decided anything

All today was a vote amongst the clubs - the clubs have proposed no relegation and 4 promotions (no surprise really)

The EFL, FA will make the final call and the National League will be involved in those talks too

National League need to be making a decision Monday at the latest now in my eyes - be proactive instead of just stalling

So when will the efl and fa Meet to discuss this?

But which way do they jump Adam? It would have to be a declaration based on merit. I dont think the Stevenage issue is done by any means. They couldn't void until the EFL and FA sanctioned Stevenage's reprieve which I dont think is certain.

League 2 just voted to end season early. Table decided by PPG and play offs to remain. Clubs asked for relegation to NL to be suspended but no decision made on it.

I don’t see how League 2 can put forward promotions and play offs but no relegation. It wouldn’t surprise me if the EFL and FA say you can’t do that. They want their cake and eat it. The National League need to move forward and quickly now with no more waiting to see what the others are going to do.

In the event of a curtailment of the season, the EFL Board outlined how this could be addressed through a framework that includes maintaining the principle of promotion and relegation, league tables to be determined via unweighted points per game (PPG) and Play-Offs to remain in every division to determine the final promotion place.

This is the EFL 's view ! & they the Fa & national league have final say if we miss out the EFL would leave themselves wide open if they didn't relegate Stevenage.

Agree Nige. If anything I think League 2 statement on Stevenage has actually exposed more fully the weakness of the Stevenage position. It amounts to no more than a "Do us a favour Gov" plea.

Stevenage avoiding the drop would effectively mean no second promotion slot from NL. The NL teams in the playoffs will have picked up on this immediately and much depends in the next few days on their collective voice to shout out for two up and that it is loud enough to be heard and can influence the any L2 relegation outcome. I doubt it very much.

Im gonna call it now and say that Stevenage will avoid relegation at the expense of a second promotion slot from the NL. Depending on how you would view this, its very lucky for them to avoid relegation and then very lucky for one team getting invited up, who would only then be invited up because of the demise of Bury.

They could promote 4 from league 2, (one extra to replace Bury), relegate 2 from L1 and 2 from L2 and still promote 2 from NL, all based upon PPG.

I dont think that the EFL board would approve unless they were pretty sure the FA would support it. The FA of course does not need to wait for the EFL to give its view. It can do that at any point.
