They were all over us! ;)
Some of them can't fathom why Barrow are top of the table as apparently we only created one chance and goal to kill their play-off hopes. Having seen those highlights, as I suspected the glowing reports from the away fans were just bias. ;)

I think the consensus on the Stockport forum (in melt down mode) is that Barrow were poor and they were just worse, if there manager was any good they would have beaten us. If their players were played in the right positions and they were any good as well. Oh and their alleged top 5 budget was spent correctly, etc.

BTW: There was a very good interview pre-match with some official from Stockport that had a Barrow/Cumbria link. Can't recall who it was but he did set a picture of Stockport having had a lot of off-field problems which has helped put them where they are and that rebuilding is slowly happening as a lot of obstacles had been over come. He did say they could really do with a Paul Casson type character to come along. Big club fallen a long way. The programme is not available on iPlayer so I can't go back and listen.

Boot room 39 is up on YouTube.
Who puts a dado rail in the boot room?

Anyone know how away attendances are calculated/estimated to such precision? Can understand a guess rounded out to 150, for eg Just curious as to who they count as an away fan.

Probably counted the amount of people that went through away turnstile.

Ah, fair enough - haven't been to Edgeley Park, and most grounds in CN don't have away turnstiles. I think they gave a pretty specific away attendance at Fylde, yet everyone came through the same gate and stood all round the ground.

The guy seems to take the combined role of BarrowLad and DaveC although Dave's photos are better and BarrowLad would never get the goalscorer's name wrong. :D
It all comes 'round again.

Just under 2,000. Think it was their lowest league gate of the season.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

1,962, including 143 from Barrow. The ground seats over 10,000 so less than 1/5 capacity.

Perhaps some County fans preferred to watch Man City v Barcelona on TV, rather than the lads from Holker Street.

Stockport lowest attendance of the season.

Christ are we back to slating other teams attendances? Ours aren't great, and would be about half of what they are if we hadn't had a take over.

Barrow is a town FULL of people who support united, city etc who would rather be sat in the conti on a Saturday afternoon than holker street, we are in no position to mock some Stockport fans who might also follow their local successful team.

I'm not mocking them, just commenting. It has always been the case that many Stockport supporters also follow City.

I wonder if Stockport considered playing the match on an evening when their neighbours didn't have a high-profile match - a day later, perhaps?

No slating off me, just replying to the question off Jonty.

And you are right, Barrow is full of people who think supporting their team is sitting in a pub watching them. I've said it before on here but there's one lad who told me he hasn't missed a Utd game in two years............but he'd only been once to Old Trafford in that time!!!
I could blindfold some of the people I work with and drop them off in the DDH and if I told them it was Anfield they'd believe me.

Going back to Stockport, year after year of relegation, poor performances, debt and God knows how many managers passing through would wear any loyal supporter down, that in mind their attendances have stood up quite well I think.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
