A very professional post Puffing Ron.
One question remains.
What was the cash supposedly claimed to have been spent on?

That's my main question in all of this. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:A very professional post Puffing Ron.

I know that there was no proper accounting done (with receipts etc) for the withdrawals: but I can't see myself ever making 17 withdrawals averaging £150 each without at least a fairly solid idea of what that money is being spent on.

Genuine question: what would you rather do?boyliegladbach wrote:So all is ok because it's getting paid back.
My own thoughts:
Pushing it through the civil courts is pointless... all they can do is order the money to be repaid. It already is being repaid, so that's just a waste of time and money. Assuming the courts found in the Trust's favour: they could actually find against the Trust and actually order the Trust to return the monies repaid so far.
Attempt to get Pete arrested and prosecuted on, presumably, some form of theft charge? It's possible, sure - although proving it would be difficult. And what would it achieve? For one thing, I'd presume Pete would, at that point, rescind his offer of repaying the money and take it through the courts himself: so if he's found innocent we'd have to return the money etc.
And in either of the above options, that's a lot of time, effort, and money on legal fees, preparing evidence etc that the Trust would have to undertake.
In either of those scenarios, the Trust loses money compared to what they've done. I can see the argument for "It's the principle of the matter" with regard to pushing for prosecution/pressing charges etc, if the Trust believes that the act was criminal, but what does the Trust actually gain from that other than a bunch of bad publicity and a massive legal bill? (Excuse the phrasing here, I don't know how it would actually work)
I've honestly not made up my own mind as to whether I consider it theft or a mistake: but from the Trusts point of view, I just don't see any benefit from other courses of action than the one taken. Get the money back, and get on with the job in hand.

I blackened my friend's eye but I offered him some Birdseye frozen peas from my freezer to take down the swelling and we both had a laugh. We then cooked some Captain's Coins for our dinners with Smilie Faces and the peas and all was good.

Agreed. There should be nothing more to discuss.Puffing Ron wrote:

Shameful. This matter should not have been discussed on a public forum in the first place as it is something that is solely Trust business.Puffing Ron wrote: However, this seems unlikely to happen given that someone has thoughtfully provided the Evening Mail with a copy of the AGM minutes. Again, so be it. I leave it to the readers of this forum to form their own view on the motivation behind that step, the benefits it might bring to anyone and anything and the degree of further enlightenment which may result.
