Not negative . Just realistic.
Most fans have grown tired of broken promises and a regime described by former employees as "a shitstorm".
for decades was on the bones of its arse, hundreds of thousands in dept. thats being realistic.if he chooses to put as much money in as it takes to allow us to compete at this level then im happy, why should he waste all his money on building a new stadium, funding unrealistic targets, what' he has done so far is good enough for me,Im sure there's even more to come. Your not a supporter thats obvious for everyone to see.
I think this might be the last time I say this because the rhetoric of saying Casson saved the club is extremely boring. Home truths are pointed out and the reply is ALWAYS " CASSON SAVED THE CLUB ,WE WOULDN'T EXIST REYREYREYRYEYRYEYRYEY" its boring as [SwearFilter].
We know Casson bought out the club in its time of need. We know that. It happened. Its history. No one is saying that was a bad thing. Not even me.
The issue is that the clubs seemingly letting this 10th cats life go to waste. All the potential just no ideas or implementation.
The moment you say that its Paul Cassons club and he can do what he wants then youve given up. Youve lost your football team.
The reality is that the club is floating without an engine or direction at the moment in the hope of the off chance it meets its destination.
Theres no vision, the wrong people have been employed in important roles and most importantly promises have been broken, time and time again.
This week weve seen a former employee describe the club being run as a shit storm. Someone who was in there day in day out seeing how things run.
If people choose to ignore that then thats fine. Thats unfortunately the reality of whats going on.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Presumably the person doing the background checks was Paul Ogden which perhaps explains
why he was brought in behind Cox's back.
Talking to those in the know yesterday it appears that Casson and Cox hadn't been seeing eye to eye for a while and Casson was engineering to part company with Cox at no cost and Cox had had enough anyway.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
A fair few stories circulating yesterday. Cox may have been angling to get out as far back as last January to move on to bigger things. From that point Casson wouldn't release funds for obvious hoofball players which frustrated Cox. Some players were also looking to get away during the summer due to the hoofball ethos.
The truth probably sits somewhere between the stories from both sides but it seems obvious that neither party trusted each other.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
The fact is that, as long as Paul Casson is the owner, he CAN do exactly what he wants and if anybody thinks otherwise then he or she is living in a dreamworld! In actual fact, I have a lot of sympathy with many of the points you make and certainly have some unease about the direction in which the club is moving but you weaken your arguments by continually repeating them and also by never admitting you're wrong on any subject. Most logical thinking people know they are right some of the time and wrong some of the time and any sensible person disregards the opinions of people who insist they are always right. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:47 pm The moment you say that its Paul Cassons club and he can do what he wants then youve given up.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
But that doesn't mean questions can't be asked. Yes he's the outright owner but after making all the grandiose statement's and making all sorts of promises to get control of the football club, the fact they haven't been backed up, any questions asked or criticism of the owner is legitimate imo.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 1:37 pmThe fact is that, as long as Paul Casson is the owner, he CAN do exactly what he wants and if anybody thinks otherwise then he or she is living in a dreamworld! You say the club is floating with no direction and without an engine. I say it is a temporary hiatus that you get in football when you lose your manager. Hopefully, the new manager will be better than the old, who had to go no question. Remember Paul Casson appointed Paul Cox so he did okay there, now he has to repeat the trick, not easy. As for appointing a new CEO I can not see what improvements that would bring. The club is in good hands and given a bit of luck we will enjoy future success. We are competing against clubs with their own millionaire owners so having money is not a guarantee of success. We need sensible heads and the support of the fans.
As for broken promises perhaps it is time to cut the owner a bit of slack. Not sure exactly what was promised and when but he now seems to have a better realisation of what is required. This has lead to the idea of the redevelopment of the Steelworks end being an aspiration, now it may not happen but I think it has a far better chance of happening with Paul Casson in charge than without him.

Debates usually work better when theres two
Sides adding to it rather than one just dominating all the time.
