I spent a full summer 10 years ago painting the entire ground when about 10 folk went down before moving away.

So you took an interest after the FA Trophy win?

Nice personal snipe! Its not what ill do its what others will do ie keep supping at the tally ho , soccer bar , ambrose ect pre match and not use the facility we have created and paid for with some hard fund raising which would be a crying shame if folk turn up and there is still no draught ect disjointed facility , lack of quick service folk will simply not use it.

Dragging on is this thread. Its not opening for England games get over it. Plenty of other places to watch England and those moaning the most probably wouldn’t even attend if it was. The club must have their reasons for not using the fanzone and maybe it’s a good sign that they think the lost revenue won’t impact on the clubs finances for the coming season.

Have we got an official / unofficial away pub? Presume most teams will bring at least a pub full of supporters. Is it a police call or do the pubs decide or is it just a free for all?

Not that I am aware of. Probably be a Police thing that will be sorted nearer the time. Soccer Bar maybe? now we have our own fanzone. They have a large concert room that could accommodate a fair few

Have just heard that at the England game at Holker was crowd disturbance resulting in at least one broken nose and event closed early .Some of the protagonist.
Then went to bay horse and further disturbance occurred.If true surprisedt they allowed to hold another one so May be good job fanzone didn’t open

Every village has its idiots, isn’t enough reason to cancel an event imo. No trouble at the fan zone for the Croatia game when we went ( took a city fan and he was v impressed with how the ground looked as his first time there, and wanted to come to some home games next season), no trouble at craven park for champions league final either.

My point is that in their eagerness to make money people who were obviously too drunk were still served which if in a pub landlord could be in trouble for supplying.Yes there will always be idiots and not necessarily only in 18/25 age bracket but it is obvious more security for safety of others including family groups should have been there to prevent it getting out of hand.I accept that an England goal stands you a chance of being dowsed in beer by happy idiots but don’t condone any violence like this when large crowds there.Had potential to be much worse just to make money.Saying always idiots is just an excuse a cop out for personal responsibility and discipline and a get out of jail card for organisers.If that the sort of client that would attend fanzone would lose us more support in long run

Ann you are assuming an awful lot in your post, I don’t know what happened but won’t slate Holker or those running the event because 1 or 2 caused trouble, it can occur anywhere & any time, It’s not always someone’s fault bar the idiot that caused it, No one else.
