Did the din sound pleasant enough from the Barrow faithful. Most enjoyed the experience despite the dominance after the first five minutes and gulf in class the support and the team never gave up.

We talked about the game on the way home and both came to the same conclusion. We gave our best and I personally was immensely proud of our team that night, I even had a lump in my throat when the manager and the whole team came to our stand at the end of those ninety minutes and clapped the support we all gave throughout the whole ninety plus minutes.

In my eyes, we showed up and did what we could. The continued support of those around my grandson and I, also showed the Chelsea supporters that we never lowered our heads, our team stayed and played and I’m just so proud of every single one of them.

If one wish remained unanswered, it was that we could have at least replaced the zero with a one on the scoreboard that evening.

Yeah, you made your presence felt. These games are always a lose-lose for us now - win 5-0 and it's 'well, it was only xxxx'; lose or draw and it's a terrible result. And the atmosphere from the home fans, with all due respect, is never going to be the same as for when we play, say, Spurs.

We get that and you should hear us when we play Morecambe! You've been very magnanimous my friend and your people were a credit also which was unexpected given some of the trash talking elsewhere. Incidentally, did you know we had two guys from Barrow in our squad? Can you beat that?

No he can’t. There was definitely no one from Barrow in the Chelsea squad.
