Lewis Guy has jarred his knee, nothing major. A shame really as he was playing well, chasing everything down and wanting to be involved in all aspects of the game. He seems like an asset for us.

Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
Weird to come away from an away game with three points in the bag yet not feeling the joy. Perhaps my expectation was skewed by events in the first five minutes though despite the scoreline, we were about as convincing as a bottle of Marsh's Coola-Cola masquerading as Sass. Thought Cooky's goal was utter class and agree there were an unbelievable number of offside decisions against us, some of them justified and others, for me, lost in the grey mists of an offside rule that needs to be properly clarified for the good of the game, the officials, the players and the fans.

Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
At this time last year I would be happy with this.....ok we have PC to help us along but my question simply would be...would you be happy with where we are now if I asked you last season at this stage? l know we have not played well but we are still getting results, ugly, poorly etc but we are still there even with our injuries. let's not get too down beat, we are doing very well and a lot of other clubs are envious of our fan base and support.....the old saying "rome was not built in a day " etc. just enjoy the ride

I would have liked to have seen Taylor's challenge early on in game which Oxford thought was a red.byt wrote:Match highlights are now up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7640c5ezS0

Cheers for the highlights. Is their ground some cow field round the back of some motorway services??

You're not too far off, there; the A40 Oxford bypass runs behind one side of the ground. The pitch itself wasn't in too good a condition, but the ground is part of a fair sized sports complex.Shaun wrote:Cheers for the highlights. Before the game we were talking to the Oxford Chairman and he was telling us of the club's plans for the ground, financed in part by income from the other sports facilities.
He also mentioned that one of their Directors was from Spain, hence the number of players (at least five) from that country in their squad.

Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
Just watched the highlights.
If Edmo mentioned the state of the pitch, then he isn't far wrong is he?
How can you possibly play football on that !!!!!!!!
Oxford never threatened. We scored 3 away from Home (8 for the week) Kept a clean sheet.
Could of scored 7. Strikers scoring all the goals. An easy victory.
What's everyone moaning about?

That pitch looked in really bad shape*. No wonder our superstars couldn't slickly pass it about.
*Credit to our groundsman- our pitch looking really good and the lads have done a great job on it.
