remember when Barrow AFC were called small-time by them when the club called off a game late on. Small time is when you are third in the league and cant muster enough interest to get a bus up to travel a retentively small distance to support your team.

What they going to blame Barrow football for next.

What happened was terrible and hope those that did it get properly punished, but the firm must have been in real trouble already.

No doubt whatsoever, we know that, however we also all know folk don't need much of an excuse to not turn up.

Surely the company had insurance?

No doubt when York lose tomorrow that will be our fault the players being affected by the events of last week

It feels sensible to clarify my opinion before i say what I'm going to say. The vandalism to that bus was terrible and the people involved deserve a stiff punishment!

I agree with Bingo, in fact it seems to me that the company are using the incident at Barrow as a smokescreen for their own financial ineptitude. They will definitely have had insurance so how can it can it have forced them under? Maybe it cost them some money in the short term through paying a another driver, fuel and loss of earnings. This would only be a few hundred pounds! If a company can't sustain that in the short term then they are not running their business very well.

It's a [SwearFilter] poor excuse by them really, they've obviously used the incident to deflect the criticism that would follow from the school run that they were contracted to.
There is absolutely no way they didn't have insurance so they shouldn't have been out of pocket by much more than normal excess charges, I realise this would be more than normal due to what they do, but definitely no where near enough to send them under.....unless they were in serious trouble financially before last weekends events.

They might have had vehicle insurance but what if they didn't have public liability insurance and could see a train crash coming ('scuse the metaphor). Injured customers claiming compensation (well, they couldn't claim it from the perpetrators) which they were unable to fulfil. Speculation,I know, but blaming a broken window for liquidating the company seems ever-so-slightly far-fetched.
