One of the subjects on the podcast recently has been around whether we are too nice when decisions go against us, take the Crewe penalty for example where there were no real arguments despite it being miles outside of the box. Good to see their disallowed goal was heavily contested, and may have contributed to the referee/linesman having a longer think.

Ironic comment on the County forum that their players are too 'nice' and would have just walked away and accepted the goal in the same circumstances.

And I should add that Sam Foley is giving Robbie Gotts a good run for his money. He’s showing many of the younger players how it should be done.

I think Foley has been phenomenal this season. He joined us supposedly in the twilight of his career. I cannot think of a player that’s given us more over the last few years. And this despite us trying to let him go at one point.

Well done to those who made it to Nottingham last night. I hope the Castle Rock brewery got a celebratory visit.

I think Foley should be given a player-coach contract next season. I think we need to keep people like this in the club. He's been outstanding ever since he joined us. Can't believe we almost let him go.

He is so committed he wiped out Duru for the Notts County goal! He was immense as usual - his header for our second should watched by Emile Acqua and Aaron Pressley as a training video. As others have said, he and Robbie Gotts have been brilliant, but it was a good all-round team performance last night.

You could have spared yourself all that angst by relying on the yin and yang of the universe . . . meaning that after the ultimate humiliation and despair against Carlisle last Thursday it was a nailed on cert that we would win last night. You could have bet your house on it.

the Notts county manager he had no complaints with the penalty not being awarded or the disallowed goal he said on the penalty he would have been disappointed if a penalty was awarded against his side for that and ultimately the officials got the offside for the goal Correct

That's made my day hearing that from the Notts County manager. What a refreshing outbreak of integrity in the murky world of professional football! I have looked at both incidents and slowed them and paused them and I do think the correct decisions were reached. For the 'penalty', it looks like a typical case of a player initiating minimal contact and then tumbling to the ground to look for the penalty. He should have been booked. As for the disallowed goal, one of their players is in an offside position when the volley is driven through and either touches the ball or at least interferes with play. Massive congratulations to the County manager for behaving with dignity, and massive congratulations to the referee and liner for talking it over and having the strength of character to make the right decision in the end. Maybe there's hope for professional football after all? If I knew where that "applauding hands emoji" was hiding I'd stick three of them here for N.C. manager, ref and liner.
