Should make Sunday and if someone wants to give me a hand to do 1st aid room, great as we can crash it in, in no time. As long as tbey can use a brush and not blob paint everywhere! :)

Also, may have a crack at the modules Tommy has made.

I know mrssenorita is tied up for another three weeks on Sundays so that's going to make it even harder to progress anything at all.
You seem to be forgetting something. The ground has been neglected for years. The work you are doing is admirable but you're trying to finish all the jobs that have mounted up over the last 10 years in one summer.

Relax, enjoy some time to yourself. There will be a hardcore 3 or 4 that turn up regularly and make progress. Don't worry if progress is slow. Holker Street wasn't built in a day.

Maybe have a push for a large scale work party on one weekend every few months?

Believe me, we know the ground has been neglected for long enough & that's not just the bit's supporters see when they attend games - we've seen the nitty gritty.

We don't want a hardcore of 3 or 4 - we want (& so should everyone) dozens & dozens of supporters to be involved in making the ground better. Remember last year when the club asked for supporters to turn up & paint the ground but only a couple of days notice was given? All hell broke loose because people said they needed more notice! fair point, we give weeks/months notice - every Sunday/Tuesday!! how much notice is giving fair notice?

If we asked for one big push every few months would that seriously work better than what we're doing now? And even if it did, It'd be no good forty people turning up & tripping over each other, it has to be gradual, a bit each week but with steady numbers involved.
As I've said time & again, it's our ground & if we don't do it who will? because the BoD's certainly don't have the cash to do it, so what happens then?

I'm not having a go at you mate but just getting frustrated that we can only rely on twenty people when up to a 1,000 + have some sort of interest in the club but everyone says to the BoD's "accept help off volunteers"

Mrsenario, Exile put in a hard shift yesterday and removed all the boards and cladding into the workshop. He also moved the sand and paving stones into a safer area ready for Saturday. He emptied the bins and had a cup of tea.

Graham was busy painting as usual and doing an excellent job. The door for the disabled toilet is looking good now and will be more weather proof with a coat of paint on it.

The two stewards were busy painting the crush barriers and they are looking much better. I wish we could do something about the front of the Wilkie stand roof---it lets the place down as it looks grotty. The stewards also put the two heavy stand things in the skip that have been lying there for weeks so I think a message to Trevor for it to emptied is in order.

I was organising again.!!!!

Where the heck is Jonty?

Great effort Tommy, Peter...keep up the good work.....we will make sure the next batch of work is achievable without stretching the resource at the next meeting.

Also plan ahead accordingly with material costing, better tooling and our volunteer workforce...........some good guys and girls on hand now

Someone mentioned nearly a year in October since we began so lessons to be learned and making good strides.....thanks to everyone involved great experience!!!

Ian and I managed to get some tools, a 25 m extension, metal cabinets and worktops tonight from a garage clear out along with lots of other bits and pieces.

Keep checking those garages and sheds as we continue to grow...every little helps

Well worth the run out as there were quite a few handy bit's & bob's that we bought plus still some to go back for that we couldn't fit in the cars. All now dropped off in the GMA.

Klaus Moogintaal is after someone on Sunday morning to help out in the first aid room with a bit of painting, this is one job that seems to have dragged on but through no fault of Klaus because he's been down twice to make a start but we've let him down by not having the keys, we'll make sure they're there on Sunday.
If you are half decent at doing a spot of painting it'd really help Ben get that job ticked off our list.

Gates open at 9:00 all welcome :)

Yes I did but not sure how we're going to fix them . I had one on my garage door (not the litter one) held on with 'sticks like sh*t' and it fell off now held on with gaffa tape.

I've been away most of the summer and even missed yesterday's game being elsewhere.

I can't make it today but can next Sunday to get back into action. JK

Thanks to Sinkfall who emptied the skip within a few hours of a request.
Ian, do we have an advertising board for this company and if we don't I think we should get them one as the money they save us in getting rid of the junk and the use of the skip without charge is worth an ad board as a thank you.
Thanks also to Trevor Jones for arranging this.

I checked the home changing room yesterday before kick off and there was no flooding, so perhaps it is the holes in the cladding on the wall that is the culprit as it could depend on which way the wind is blowing the rain. If it was a roofing problem it would have been wet in there regardless. Mind you Les said it takes a while for it to work it's way through so I will have another look tomorrow. An easy remedy if it is the cladding.

Good idea about the board elaine they do save us lots of money do we not have one for them under the stand.....Ian has the list............also the patches for the holes have been made out of thin aluminium the same as the profile on the crossbar so they should get fitted soon ....as high on the list just want a few rivets and sealant

It's been long old day but a quick run down of what went on is...

Klaus Moogintaal put a nice fresh coat of paint on in the first aid room, he's now looking at coming back to put another coat on & then gloss all the window frames & other bit's of wood in there. Glad to get this one ticked off (nearly) as it's been dragging on & as I said earlier, that's my fault for not getting key's organised for Klaus when he's managed to get down there.

Al was doing something with the battery drill but not too sure as never really got the chance to speak to him.

Steve, Exile, Tommy (abc) were busy shifting all the stuff around in the GMA which allowed the new floor to be laid (see later in post) This included making the LONG trek to the skip with wheelbarrow loads of rubble & rubbish (one reason why we needed more help today, this is a lot of work for a couple of people but....)

Myself & Ian (white van joiner) laid the new extended floor in the GMA which will allow us to set up all the area's for the benches & to finally fit all the tools such as the pillar drill & chop saw on sturdy, permanent work benches, we'll also now be able to put in the new extended main work bench.
Another job that this will now let us finish is sorting out all the electrical tools that need to be locked up as we can move the heavy duty lockers in to a better position - final stages in making it a proper looking workshop.

Jonty was busy cleaning down the main stand seats again, they must be the cleanest in the country by now!! Anyway, he's now got his name against some "proper" jobs as he's served his apprenticeship with Elaine.

Exile then painted the wall behind the burger van by the West terrace.

Steve also made the cladding that had been kicked in by the numbskull from Brackley a little bit more secure as it was starting to come away & leave some sharp edges.

Whitty (69 version) came down & dropped off a sink & pedastol that he no longer had any use for, that will probably be made use of in the newly refurbished home changing room.

All in all, not a bad morning.
