Good attendances in the friendlies, yes. But I think they were the regular hardcore anyway,a lot of them wouldn't have come till the season start-if it had been an ordinary old pre season.
No, the 2-1 defeat has given all the generally idle ------- the excuse they wanted not to attend on Tuesday nite.Thirty, forty and fifty pound sky packages will keep a lot of them at home.
The only way the gates will increase significantly is if the team can put a winning run together, which I'm sure they will do starting tomorrow nite.
Another reason cited will be the lack of a lid on the Holker End if Bertha persists in hanging around.

A long overdue appointment with a surgeon in Salford will stop me from attending the first game of what promises to be an exciting campaign but Im hoping for a good home win to lift the spirits and carry us on a crest of a wave to hopefully gain promotion at the first attempt under the new and exciting reign of Mr Casson..

There is no doubt that the brilliant supporters will do us all proud and sing the lads to victory, so I am predicting a decent crowd over the 1000 mark and a 3 or 4 nil win...

All Bluebirds are Bluuuueeeeeeeee!!!! :D

Barrow 2 v 0 Gainsborough.

Cook, Walker.

Attendance - 1191

Two lads going that I know for the first time tonight, one even missing a meeting he hasn't missed for a dozen years. Let's hope there are plenty more like that.

Going tonight, as per usual, but managed to rope in a few people who hardly go and some lads from work who are from away and couldn't name you one Barrow player past or present. Time we ended this persecution of 'fairweather fans' - they're potentially the regulars of the future.
