Basically we are taking off the top few inches which will take the lumps, bumps, and shallow rooted grass with it.
This will leave the longer rooted grass to regrow, and it will be given some fresh top dressing, over seeded and watered regularly over the coming months.
We aren't having a sprinkler system fitted, but we are getting water tanks to improve the pressure when the pitch is watered.
And yes, the goal mouths will be flattened.

don`t mean to sound ungrateful but i`m almost certain that we were told that the new pitch would be done by a firm who work/advise premier league clubs and it would have a sprinkler system Mr Casson`s words not mine!.
As i have said not ungrateful but please let`s not big things up because it only leads to criticism! (before anyone says it i know i`m being critical but in a nice way!)

It'll be strange seeing the pitch without the bump in the goalmouth.

Nige, we are taking the advice of the firm you mentioned and Gareth is working with them on this project. Gareth is our main man when it comes to the pitch, he's worked wonders with very little budget over the past few seasons.
Sprinklers were also mentioned but a fully automatic systems costs thousands. This is a cheaper measure designed to do us until the ground development is set in motion. The tanks are not cheap, but can be reused in any new development if they are needed or resold if not.
That said, the pitch will be one of, if not the best surface in our league next season.

Would you prefer me to put 8 smileys and a line saying "Disclaimer: BTW I'm joking I don't actually want Casson out" next time? Of course it's a joke, you plant pot.

Glad to see improvements taking place.
Well done Mr. Casson.

The Holker street roof sounds simple, but that is a major logistical planning nightmare! It's not just a roof.

I'm sure I read somewhere (around the time that Paul Casson took control) that the building of the Holker Street roof was to commence at the start of next season - 2015/16. IF NOT - that is a major disappointment. Atmosphere's never been the same since that roof came down...
Sick of standing on the Popular Side...
