Re: Season Ticket
I've told Emma about this topic Mike and she's keeping tabs on it, like I say, it could be a bit too late to do too much about it this coming season but at least Emma has something there to think about for the season after.glasgow_blue wrote:Hi Ian, i would certainly be interested. Working n/s at the moment so midweek games are out and was planning on not renewing my season ticket next season and paying on a game to game basis. Good idea imospirit of 1990 wrote:Nick,
Emma likes what you are suggesting. She will look into it further but a lot will come down to the ticket cost & demand. So, would anyone else be interested in an offer like this?
I suppose this would have to have a fairly quick respose, as well as a good amount of interest as Emma is already working with the printers regarding season tickets and programmes.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I would like to see this option made available too. Last time we asked 3/4 years ago the response we got back was that the printers wanted an extra fee on top of the production cost for the printed version and the club didn't think there would be demand to cover that.mr_grey wrote:Can we not have the opportunity to electronically download or buy the programme online .. especially for those who can't get to the game..those living abroad..or those who can't get a programme because they are sold out.. isn't everything going digital now?
Another one to pass on to Emma please Ian

St. Helens town publish their programme online http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/sthelenst ... 36095.html - the club need to look at the bigger picture people will always buy the hard copy especially those that like to collect them but the online version would be available worldwide and that's a great thing to sell to sponsors and advertisers aswellRichard Ingham wrote:I would like to see this option made available too. I disagree.
Its nice that the 15 odd fans that use this forum from outside Barrow would get to view it online but there is just no market for it at all.

Re: Season Ticket
There are lots of Barrow fans from outside town that would be interested as well as people who take an interest in these things -
So I disagree with you I think there would be interest and a market for this and if it can be done cheaply or free - why not. Its another thing to sell to sponsors/ advertisers.

Name 33 of them who would definitely commit to this financially for the next 12 months.

Re: Season Ticket
I wasn't suggesting people pay for it - why can't it be available free a couple of days after the game - I think it would be beneficial to the club, it's sponsors and advertisers and with links directly to advertisers and even drive sales to an online shop - the YouTube videos get a fair number of views so there is interest in Barrow outside of town.

Re: Season Ticket
Why do people buy newspapers ?
People like to read at the game / collect / prefer a physically copy
Anyway just my thoughts

Because newspapers are 40 pence and are cheap to produce.
If you gave programmes away for free two days after the game, then less people would bother to buy it at the ground.

Re: Season Ticket
I think people would still buy them, I think people would read an online copy too.
In terms of price, surely it can be done for free? The programmes must have a digital copy for printing, we own the programme/content so the printers can't really hold us to ransom?

Re: Season Ticket
you only need another 32 now Bingo !!!
I would certainly sign up.
its a great idea. make all the ads in it click thrus to drive us to sponsors(the club could even gain extra revenue though this)
get it sent to us lunchtime on matchday so fans have it on their smartphones in the pub prior to the match.
for us ex-pats have the commentary links included
maybe even have a mini away match version version with latest club news include in subscription as an exclusive.
the paper edition could also have its own exclusives as well to encourage purchase. I remember going to a pre season friendly about five years ago in the Manchester area and their programme had a car sticker in it for the coming season in it. with the promise of prizes that were enhanced if it was spotted at an away match as well.
I recently ended up chatting to a Macclesfield fan who had brought his family up for the recent match. spent the morning at the zoo and then arrived at holker st not knowing about the fun day.he said it was a shame our club didn't do a combined ticket for the two attractions and market it to away fans.thinking about it there may be even uptake locally for it and room to increase the support this way as well.

As part of the website development the online shop will be re-instated and options such as online programmes will be considered. Emma will update on progress.
Think we better let her get on with some of the other stuff she's employed for, for the rest of the week....
