Evatt revisiting

Hopefully not, without Evatt we would be fighting relegation in the national league at best.

Because of him we are playing league football and for that we owe him the respect he deserves for what he’s done for our club.

Not just because of him, but give him a warm reception hes moved on he speaks well of barrow, did a lot for the club

I think anyone that has the stupidity to boo him after what he achieved for our club should be thrown out and banned for life.

Far too much pleasantries regarding what Evatt did for Barrow, what about what Barrow AFC did for Evatt? It was a successful business arrangement which both parties hugely benefitted from. I'm all for a brief welcome but then back to being a hostile Holker Street please, regardless of friendlies etc.

I think Evatt did a lot more for barrow than vice versa. He’s a top manager and proved that with us and Bolton.

We don’t need holker street to be hostile in a friendly game against a team in the division above imho, give Evatt and Dixon the respect they both deserve and move on

When Evatt came to the club it was the Cassons who were in charge, when they'd gone he explained how he'd been promised certain things that didn't happen ( no surprise there) ,so he effectively had to start again when Hornby and Co took over, he built a championship winning side that then brought our community together,,I actually asked him to visit one well known fan in hospital and the guy took time to do this, yes he moved on ( which most of us given that sort of opportunity would have taken) !
So yes I think we do owe him respect and a decent appreciation of what he achieved, let's show him ,Bolton and our board that we are decent fans and not as petty as some of our rivals are !

At the end of the day Ian Evatt was an employee of the club and therefore given the chance to progress to a club with more potential to improve himself Bolton were bound to appeal.more. There is no one who would turn down a chance to earn more money and achieve more success whatever job they are doing.
Having signed a contract thus meant Bolton had to pay us compensation so it wasn't all a loss.
He came and did what he said he would do which was to get us back into the football league. To do that in his first managerial role was phenomenal. We weren't a club which had been in the football league within a few years, or a fashionable non league club, it was 48 years of trying and failing to achieve that goal under countless managers.
It was a sadness that we couldn't as fans and as a club applaud him, his backroom staff and the players that gave us that unbelievable victory because of the Co-vid pandemic.
I for one will do that when he brings his team out on the 24th. It is long overdue.

I seen us rejected from the football league when I was fifteen years old and, like a few others lived through some of the darkest of nights so, I for one will applaud Ian Evatt and wish him well.

How we treat former players etc can count in our favour when future signings are asking around the football fraternity what sort of a club are we, how we treat players. Positive comments can go a long way in helping to make their decisions.

Totally agree how badly SH was treated by Jolley yet stood up and was counted keeping us in the league should be applauded if his apprenticeship goes well he may be back one day in a management capacity .IE did wonders for us getting us promoted he deserves to be treated with respect and applauded for the job he did he has moved on so have we no need for negativity
