Interesting words from the statement: the Club and Pete had different perspectives on the way forward
In other words he wanted a shedload of money to spend on the players he wanted, and we can't afford it.

A sad end to a mainly good spell as our manager. As always we move on and now the search for a replacement and ultimately the right fit for our club begins.
I for one would like to thank Pete Wild for embracing the club its supporters and our town in his time here and wish him well for the future in football.
I’m sure it won’t be too long before the nearly man of football gets the success his work deserves.

He won’t do anything special in the game. Too petulant and lacks any sort of plan b. Nice bloke but don’t think he’s astute enough to challenge long term

We needed strikers and we signed Telford (expensive) and got Stockton on loan. I think we had everything that we could reasonably expect in January.

We can only speculate. I got the impression Wild was getting fed up in the last 6 months. The A590. Wind. Friday night stay overs . Little old Barrow . He kept repeating those points. I think he knew on the final day it was over. He looked distraught.
The football was effective, but often a hard watch . The first week of the first season was brilliant and was never surpassed.
My guess is the board needed the play offs from a financial point of view - an extra £2-300k , to cover B team costs and made it clear no b team if no play offs . Pete, who used a method based on quantity and process needed bodies. He needs a B team. Too rigid .
An impasse reached. Trust breached.
We are in a much better place since his arrival , so I am grateful for that , but we move on .

More context required. Would like to know what was “the differences in the way forward”, unless those are the smoothing over words. Be transparent and end speculation.

Followed the "on his way" thread, didn't believe it at first but then some things started to add up..
Gutted? Not especially.. had us in a Position that comes not very often and couldn't get us over the line, no plan b and got tired of the "little ol barrow" comments.. he did ok, got involved, seemed a decent bloke but reading between the lines, I think his head was turned a la Halifax and hence the damp squib toward the end of the season.

Where did he say he was sacked? It didn’t. Legalities will mean both parties have to be wise with there words. Mark my words he has another club lined up
