I have travelled to most home and away games from Richmond in North Yorkshire since promotion in honour of my dad who always wanted us to get back into the football league but never lived to see it.
Not so much this season due to cost of living . Happy to say I gave up a Man united season ticket to follow the Bluebirds.

As an Ulverston lad my first ever game was a cup tie against Goole in the late 60,s or early 70,s. Maybe someone could tell me when that was ?

That would be Nov 16 1968 we won 3-1, I remember going by train with a few of my mates must’ve been about 13 years of age at the time my first away match. I think we scored first and Goole equalised before we finally took the tie.

As the user name shows, I now live in Bakewell in Derbyshire (about 12 miles from Chesterfield, 16 to Sheffield, similar to Alfreton, the venue for one of my worst Barrow experiences at the end of the Bayliss era...), but I was born in Barrow, went to Victoria Infants and Junior then BBGS. Left Barrow to go the Liverpool Uni and never really returned. Still go for the occasional home match, but I am well located for away matches (Nottingham tonight after Crewe last week). My first match was in the 1967 promotion season, with a season ticket the following year. 1972 to 2008 was a bit of a wilderness period for me, but Stalybridge at Burton reignited my passion, with the highs of Middlesbrough, Chelsea, Notts County away 2019, and the lows of Shaw Lane, etc, since then.

I was there too, having gone by coach. I remember our pitch invasion at the end - Goole makes Barrow look classy! Isn't that the season we played Leicester City in the third round?

Barrow born 38 years old... First games were around 95/96 been going home and away ever since.

Best memories from the early days was the Dover fa trophy games where fans were locked outside, and the game where Barrow were the last game of the 1999 year and got some decent publicity.

I was born in Barrow in1954 and from about the age of about six have followed Barrow AFC through all their ups and downs.One of my oldest memories was going by train with my dad in the 1960s on a football special to watch us play Buxton in the FA Cup and then again to watch us play Blackburn Rovers at their old ground.
One that really stands out apart from the 1990 FA Trophy final with Bobby Moore presenting the trophy was our FA
cup match against Southampton in 1967 with the ground packed to the rafters.I could be wrong but I think there was 16,000 in the ground with me squashed against one of the perimeter walls.I think we drew 2-2 ,but lost the replay at Southampton 3-0.
Barrow has all sorts of problems over the years,but we are stiil there punching well above our weight.Whatever you say about our club we are survivors.Hats off to our owners over the years who have worked miracles on a relatively tiny budget compared to other clubs.We will survive but we always do it the hard way.

You must be old seeing Barrow at there old ground as they have been at Ewood Park since 1890!

Ulverston lad, almost 50
First game was in the 80/81 season, don't ask me who it was as I was only a nipper and I genuinely have no idea.. apparently I spent more time looking at the old ground and watching people.
Many good times under the lights over the years, those were always the times when the atmosphere felt electric.

Barrow born.
First game I remember going to on my own and not with Dad was Barrow 3-2 Stockport county, 1972 think it was.

Barrow born and bred. After Uni and a year in London, with a year back in Barrow, moved to Worcester in 1983, 200 miles away, where I've stayed. Still visit the old town every 6 weeks or so to do jobs for my 99 year old mam . Hold a season ticket so usually get to a good few home games plus a few away ones. My golden era for attending as a child was that of Else, Arrowsmith, McCarthy Mulholland, Mulvaney, Pilkington etc.

Will never forget Pilkington firing a ball in from just inside the Barrow half, right hand side by the Stand and scoring in the Steelworks End goal. The ref scoring for us at the same after slotting in a low cross from McCarthy, I think it was. Fainting with excitement in a packed Holker St on beating Tranmere 2:1 in the FA Cup second round.

It was actually a shot from George McLean, going wide until it hit the ref and deflected over the keeper's head. Against Plymouth in 1968.

Born in Barrow, but pre-school age moved up the coast, where my Dad had got a job at Sellafield. In the late 60s/early 70s would catch the train to Barrow to watch matches, sometimes hitch-hiked, even cycled on a few occasions. Now live in Cheshire.

Frank. Born in Risedale, grew up in Dalton. Currently living near St Ives, Cambs (a couple of other Barrow fans live close by fyi). Started supporting the club the season after we left the league, i.e. 52 years ago. Been a big part of my life ever since, and still is. I get to about 12 games a season, mainly away from home. Always good to meet up with other exiles!

By their old ground I mean before it was redeveloped into the modern stadium it is today.It was Ewood Park but was nothing like what it is now.
