No surprises with the released player list. Hopefully, we can come to an agreement with those we are still in continuing talks with.
Not sure that I would go back for any of the loan players we have had.

Wonder if Sam Barnes has been asked back for a trail pre season Andy Whing spoke warmly of him the other day

Me too, they are all good league 2 players.

So 10 players retained and 5 in ongoing talks.
No doubt Andy Whing has been talking to possible replacement signings. Hope they are as good or better than those leaving, and I'm sure they will be.

Only players I'm surprised with is Barnes (thought he played well after coming back in to the squad and had a good game against colchester) and Vassell thought he would be kept but maybe he's off higher, apart from that looks like a full rebuild in the works.

A lot of dead wood and wages shifted there. I trust whing to bring in the right type of player who gives everything for the shirt.

The only three surprises are that the future of the three amigo’s in midfield isn’t sorted one way or another. Where there’s light there’s hope as the saying goes.
If we manage to keep two out of three then that ain’t bad.
Looks like we have cut ties with Barnes, he will probably go on to play a couple of seasons relatively injury free somewhere and boy does he deserve that bit of luck, but that’s the gamble and lessons will have been learned going forward.
Worrall makes sense to me, think he would be an asset on the coaching front whether he wants to do that with us remains to be seen.
Should get some sort of idea how Andy Whing and Iain Wood are working together by whose services they manage to retain and those who we bring in during the next seven weeks or so.

Can't see a world where Gotts, Spence, Campbell and even Vassell sign. Surely all three will have offers from clubs with better facilities, higher wages and in a location that better suits them.

Surprised Vassel was let go.
To me it looks like Campbell,Gotts and Spence will be on the move.

Vassel was only on a one year contract. Perhaps he didn't want to stay.

I do think there's a good base of a squad in the retained list. Stanway looks really promising. Canavan, jackson and I thought Williams looked good in defence when he had to play there. I'm a big fan of fletcher in midfield. And I do think there's a good player in Acquah but defo need 2 good strikers to be brought in with him.

Kouyate and Acquah are not good enough if we want to progress . We should sell them on if we can.
