Getting rid of Wild undid the progress we were making. Not saying it was perfect, but we were solid and he did have a “vision”. Losing the core of that squad didn't help either. If there is any recruitment lesson to be learned from that, we need to stagger squad recruitment so they don’t all come out of contract at once. That really weakened us as well. Squad is on a two year cycle, so it’s difficult to build squad continuity.

Got a feeling if we stay up with our heads above water this season, that its gonna be a repeat for years to come unless we get serious investment, a miracle manager happens, or the club goes up for sale, can only imagine the money issue is starting to catch up to us with a slightly reduced budget this season and other teams around us increasing/having bigger budgets and splashing cash to even stay up.... that we will literally get outspent and be unable to compete.

We have been much worse and much skinter, much lower down. We also spent many many years in this particular cycle at the bottom of Division 4.

As a support, we are hair trigger to expect the blows, to expect struggle and fight. It breeds fatalism and negativity- the 48 years out magnifies this, as does the recent success, ironically for our newer and younger regulars (and we need everyone btw)

The most confused I ever thought in my admittedly shorter years than many watching Barrow.... is that the most discombobulated we were was by the Casson investment placing us among the big spenders briefly in the Conf North.

Perhaps it's that time- we could try harder not to communicate the weight of all this on the team (for now) every time they mess up. It all becomes self fulfilling, whether the criticism is deserved or not.

Just MO

Hard not to be negative about the situation at the moment to me we’ve been watching the same thing for months. I feel like I’ve watched the same goals every week go in against us for the last 5 and a half months. They’re not learning from their mistakes , it’s just deflating to stand and watch.

The ground is just flat, many lads I know don’t bother anymore sometimes it feels a chore but as the above said we’ve seen worse and we must stick with it. Somehow I’ll probably end up in Swindon this weekend haha

Let’s hope Tuesday we can spark something

Agree we have been in far worse places/predicaments and the owners are again investing in trying to change our fortunes and Paul Gallagher and associates are entrusted in putting things right. It is very early in their tenure to criticise too much. I would by lying if I said I wasn’t concerned but time is also needed to impose their style of play on the players and reinforcements to come in and players to bed in.
Nothing easier than supporting a winning team as everyone wants a piece of the action players and supporters alike. I think a lot of the anxiety being shown is because we were deprived for so long of league football it frightens us all of the prospect of retuning to non league and the consequences of what it could potentially hold. What will be will be but one thing for sure it’s when the team is under pressure and not getting results when our support is needed most. Trying to help guide them out the gutter showing we care by backing them from the terrace being that twelfth man/woman, child that’s when Barrow AFC supporters show their true togetherness in adversity.

End of day we have been in worse places yes it's been bad this season but there's time to avoid the bottom 2 I think we will bring in another 2 players on loan and 1 or 2 might go out on loan but we have to give the new manager a few games to settle in, I think we will just avoid the drop but its goto be a struggle and possibly our joint worst season postion of 22nd since getting in the league again hopefully not but we need to start winning some games especially at home. I can't remember a home record being so bad maybe the historians have info when we last had a worse home record attandances are concerning now it's like 800 ish have disappeared we can't survive on 2200 gates we want 3k min we should be looking at 3.5k average really size of area our hardcore support is probably around 2k now who attend regardless it wasn't long ago we were getting 3k most home games and a odd over 4k crowds are on the decline unfortunately our 6th season so noveltys worn off for some maybe plus 2 wins all season at home is bad and performances have been poor but win lose or draw we carry on to the next game with just a little hope we can get a win we are currently the 4th worst supported club in the league with average of 2889 i don't think that's sustainable we need the fans who have deserted us back as you don't turn your back when it gets tough as that's football the highs an lows were just in a period of lows at the moment but it can change with a win we have to beleive it will come Tuesday night please 🙏 😀

Its the first time since the 6 right backs/Quigley interview Morecambe game that i do genuinely think we are in trouble; and that’s mainly down to the home form, in the past you’ve looked through the fixtures and especially when mid table teams were coming up here towards the end of the season there is games you could seriously see us winning, at the moment we don’t have that and those fixtures in March/April look very very tough even if we were having a good season….
However I do also think if we sign a right back, a left back and a pacy striker this week we can name a starting 11 that SHOULD be good enough to survive, and would give us some more squad depth. Saturday Rose looked quality but he was goosed, but then you look to the bench and there’s no-one realistically to bring on.
I completely understand the glass half full folk looking on everything with optimism, most of us will still be there whatever happens but when you haven’t won at home since September you can completely understand the floating fans who are staying away, and it’s very hard to get them back, especially now folk don’t have as much spare cash, and you can just watch Barrow on the telly instead if you so wished.

My feeling is that we will win the odd game here and there but I can’t see us going on a run of 3 4 wins on the bounce to drag us up the table a touch. The players look scared of their own shadow in and around the opposition box it’s frightening.

The things that are going to keep us up don't cost money.
Fight, spirit, aggression, pride, bravery and focus to name just a few. Can the new management team bring it out of the squad ? ..only time will tell but the fans have got to do thier bit more than ever.
Lets pack out the Holker end even if your a pop side stalwart get behind the goal and make a racket for the team. Come on you Bluebirds .

You are right Barrow needs its home support more than ever but even Harrogate had a bigger home crowd than us on Saturday.

Those 800 or so that have disappeared have got their excuse for not attending tomorrow night lined up now-the weather forecast is quite bad.

Have to agree with all of the above. We need supporters to stay with the team and turn up at Holker St.I can see glimpses of what Paul Gallagher is trying to do.I think given time the results will come.We have been so close in the last two matches.Hopefully if we get the promised reinforcements our luck will change.
One thing we do need though is for people to turn up and support the team, without people coming through the turnstiles our club will not survive.

We were far from being a great team last season but lost 2 of our 3 best players in Spence and Campbell and the other, Canavan, has now lost any pace he had. If you add the loss of another of our better players in Gotts and the fact that Vassell and even Feely were better central defenders than their replacements it was obvious the team badly needed decent recruitment and, IMO, only McCann was anywhere near the same level. All this makes it obvious we would struggle this season and so it has proved. It remains to be seen if Rose and the 2 Andersons improve the team significantly or any other improvements arrive but, if not, we are in serious danger of relegation. As of now, the impact of the new manager is a complete unknown but, even if it is positive, it will have little impact if the players aren't good enough.

We've 2 days to pull something out of the bag or we're doomed, you can't even see this team beating Harrogate or Newport at this rate ,Mentally weak lacking any real leadership on the pitch!

Mines the same feeling as pre season, we will need a miracle to avoid the drop. All we can do is pray and hope Gally can find the answer.
