They are all still contracted to us so of course they’ll be given a squad number
Well Adam how many people do you think can take a 30% 40% wage cut ( Hornby stated that)
But they can’t just rip their contracts up - they need a club to come in for them and the club to decide whether they let them go or demand a fee

Not just going to tear contracts up for the hell of it as that would cost the club thousands

Seems strange to announce shirt numbers so early.

You usually do that closer to the start of the season when your squad is more or less confirmed.

Shirt numbers mean nothing!
Doesn't mean you'll start if you have numbers 1 - 11 and Doesn't mean you'll still be in the team come KO on 1st match of the season. All teams issue squad numbers so wether you want players to go or not to start matches is irrelevant. We have several players from last season who potentially could go, want to go or under the new manager and with the additions so far might gel into a top of the league team.
The only thing that caught my eye with the numbers is no one has no10 so that could mean we have someone in mind to come in.

Just at the Airport got talking to a fella wearing a Grimsby Town shirt .
He was saying Rose was their best player but their Manager would only play one up front .I think he got offered a better deal by us.
I said Rose played up front but we had no one else..
If Murray is a good tactician we need to go for 3 points every game.
Need to cut alot of the media crap out it was like the fall of the Third Reich .
Win people will come let's keep a low profile and just do it.
As a once great man said We had a good team on paper unfortunately it's played on grass!!!

Where did I say that ?, I said (according to Paul Hornby)players will take a30%/ 40% pay cut, so from that it means

We paid them far too much if they can take a hit like that !
or They're not good enough to get a move

or They're only here for the money and aren't that bothered about the club!

Is that clear enough for you !!!???

Let’s be honest any player is coming for the money really it’s a job and a short career. gone are the days of player loyalty and I never buy rubbish like here for the ambition or project.

Harper, Barkhuizen etc. came on two year deals with championship experience and will be amongst our top earners. For them to take a cut is sensible contract writing by the club and either will motivate them more to try and get us back in the league, or go to a different club - either way win for the club. not that I imagine too many would be interested in them
On last seasons performances. Add Scott smith to that although I’m guessing lower wages.

Scary really how much money we’ve wasted on dross
And crocks with names over the last 2-3 years.
It’s even worse than the days of Chadwick, Goodfellow and Andy Nicholas if anyone remembers him!

Both have undoubted ability but do they want it? If they don’t show anything now under Murray then we have the answer.

The only way a player takes a paycut is IF there is a clause in his contract.
A competent club would ensure it's a standard clause in ALL contracts.......but a competent club wouldn't have 6 or 7 " managers" in a single season.
The highest earners won't be rushing to leave and take a pay cut if their agent was a bettter negotiator then whoever represented the club ; they'll sit on their arses still getting paid.Plus they can't be sent out on loan as that would be a new contract to which they'd have to agree which imo would be unlikely.
So unless the manager can ignite a spark we're stuck with top earners being excessively paid just to train.

Surely any decent contract would have a clause that you can send players out on contract as long as they are paid the same salary .
Ask Ady Pennock if he wants a couple at Ramsgate FC. soon pxxs them off.

Depends who drew up the contract! ;)

It's highly unlikely that there's a loan clause included if
they couldn't even include a relegation clause but we're all just speculating as to the terms of the players contracts, and in reality we'll never know.
I don't really care what player X earns, as long as he gives 100%, but as others have said some players look like they can't be @r$ed.

There was a relegation clause each player lost 30 to 40 %
The majority of loans now have the players parent club and the club the player is loaned to each paying a percentage of the players salary resulting in no loss in money to the player
