A week is a long time in politics, and two seasons is a long time in the legs of an over 30 football player.

I've no idea if this will prove a good decision or not, but we were a defensive disaster last season so maybe no harm rolling dice.

He was crap cost us numerous goals last season at the start. You can say he improved a little with time but then he was out injured at the end. Nowhere near the level we needed or need now, another one of Whings great signings on a two year contract. Hopefully hasn’t cost us too much to get rid but he goes down as another flop in a horrendous season.

And why was that? He played in a back 3 ( to cover for Canavans lack of pace ) then he has to cover while a supposed wingback pushed forward as he had little pace himself it was a disaster in Whings making also the defence was constantly changing, if he'd played as a centre half we'd have benefited,
Might be wrong but I think it's hitting Murray now he might have got some signings wrong, now he's using the managers book of excuses!
Now it's a mentality issue yet a few weeks ago it was a solid group with the right attitude!
Do I expect bad performances absolutely but what I can't stand is this endless 8 minute interviews that are everyone's fault but Murray's!

I’m of the opinion if played at CH in a back four he would have shown he is way ahead technically in what we currently have. PK and Benjamin have been dreadful We played him in a back three last year which left him exposed on to many occasions

He was slow yes which he can’t help but it was his poor touch against Harrogate that cost us early on in the season on the touchline, a mistake against MK Dons at home and a calamity against Bromley away for them to win it. Those are just the ones that I remember off the top of my head. The shape of the team and personnel was wrong yes but his mistakes were individual errors that you can’t attribute to positional play but just not being good enough.

The fact no one else has jumped for him up to now speaks volumes and he’ll end up at altrincham or somewhere I suspect.

Agreed Benjamin looked awful last week, relegated from national south last season…but I thought kalambayi was one of our better players on the opening matches. Although still too early to really judge anyone properly.

Top and bottom of it is there is a much needed revolution taking place in an attempt to evolve as a club. As most will surely agree we are in a hell of a mess as a club. That takes time to sort and lots and lots of patience.
I can understand the scepticism but we really have to trust what Adam Murray is setting about trying to achieve and that we will be in a better place in nine months time, that doesn’t necessarily mean promotion but we have to be in the play off mix and looking like we are heading in the right direction come season end.

Well we certainly won't be in the play off mix with the current group of players. With the current squad we'll do well to finish above the relegation places. We desperately need some creativity and a goal scorer to even be mid-table. Maybe a fit Reid could help in that respect. Otherwise we'll just have to sign a half-decent striker with some pace.

So do I, and I agree with Scott 5 about Raglan. Although he improved towards the end, he made some bad mistakes that were nothing to do with the systems or positions in which he played, but I've no strong feelings either way about keeping him or letting him go. As for being great never to be wrong, pot, kettle! 😁😁

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. Pre season, winning games, new Manager, fresh energy, good ST sales…..all good, bring it on.

Two defeats “we needed to smash it up, its all wrong”

You are only ONE poor window away from a poor season. We had that poor window last summer. Don't forget in January, floating around lower mid table but not yet in free fall and the PH interview “You don't need to do much Paul”….Whing gone and Gallagher appointed and he brought in totally the wrong type of player for the scrap we all knew was heading our way. Everything we had aimed for with Wilds plan was being undone. Getting rid of Wild was the start of the fall and it accelerated after Jan last season. It doesn't take long to for fortunes to change in football and rebuilding takes a lot longer.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

So we can either mope about and kick next doors cat ever time it passes by or trust the process.
Like I say I get the skeptics as the last last process failed monumentally as did the one before and the one before. ditto………..
That’s why the club have taken a new direction and brought Adam Murray in to hopefully bring about the necessary change.
I don’t think AM is saying much different from when he first came in, he wanted a root and branch clear out then, but soon realised he had to work with quite a few that failed us so drastically last season as getting rid was never going to be an easy task and so it’s proving.
He’s seen a few in action and they have mainly confirmed why we need to load up the deadwood stage whenever the opportunity arises . I think we will be seeing it coming over the hill a plenty yet as the season progresses.

Unlike EFL2 there is no window in the NL We can sign players right through until 5.00 pm on the fourth Thursday in March.

However I believe the manager in a recent interview said something along the lines of "it's alright we've got until March".

Trouble is if you leave it that late you only have around a month of the season left for any new signings to make a difference.

Interesting from Murray saying Raglan wanted to go part time. Heart obviously not in it
