This has surprised me as well. I didn't think those who appear to be going would. Give us a waveBingo wrote:Why would anybody want to go to the crossbar 3 hours before a game anyway to be told when to talk when to cheer, where to stand and when to wave a scarf by some patronising arsehole from the BBC
Crossbar Saturday

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Who is considered an Xbar regular ? I can think of several people who go before and after the game pretty much every game who haven't even been invited. A lot of those who appear to be going drink in another pub before the game . . .
The first 75 people who came in to the Crossbar for the Gateshead game should have been given a ticket. Simples
Doesn't the corporate packages start from 1:30 ? So how has Phil Collier managed to get in ?

But that is your opinion which isn't necessarily anyone else's. You didn't want to go so why are you so against those that do? If I wasn't interested I wouldn't be bothered what anyone else was doing and certainly not insulting the event.Bingo wrote:I'm sure some are Elaine but as a general rule the national medias coverage of non league is a load of patronising crap - why so much arguing about being at something which won't be very good anyway I have no ideaHolkerbird wrote:##
You didn't want to go but don't disparage those who do.The people who work on the programme are probably decent folk earning a living. Why turn on them? Each to his own I say.
If it causes all this division and ill feeling perhaps we are better off left at the bottom of the footballing heap and ignored in future.

So those 75 people might be people who have been to a couple of games and only since we won promotion and some could have been Gateshead fans too.K-Man wrote:Who is considered an Xbar regular ? I think it has been done as fairly as possible with limited numbers.

Re: Crossbar Saturday
a former member of this forum, the different groups were allocated in different ways. How the others selected their list I have no idea, or interest tbh.
Ian asked me to select 8 people from the Trust plus a few as a reserve list in case there were those who did not wish to/ could not attend.
I thought the fairest way to do this would be to use a random number generator online and pick out 8 numbers which related to membership numbers of members. I used this site https://www.random.org/

And boycotted the xbar not long ago lol but on the flip side travel week in week out so arguments for both sides really.K-Man wrote:Who is considered an Xbar regular ? Ian had a job to do and did it, those who don't like the outcome go elsewhere and watch it on tv it will be better anyway
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

This seems to be the Barrow AFC mentality at the moment.tictactoe wrote:those who don't like the outcome go elsewhere and watch it on tv it will be better anywayK-Man wrote:Who is considered an Xbar regular ? It's not causing me ill feeling and I'm just saying I don't know why all the fuss about a one hour event hours before the game
Anyway I'll leave it for now as I do have more pressing things happening - enjoy

Re: Crossbar Saturday
It's not just for Cross Bar regulars though - looking at the groups mentioned in Ian's post (you did read it, didn't you?) you're probably looking at no more than 10 from each group so there's bound to be folk missing out - same as not every member of the NSC would have been invited etc etcK-Man wrote:Who is considered an Xbar regular ?
