The turn out last night was never going to be record breaking I realise, but someone at the club should be leading the way, devising and promoting offers, using the opportunity of the extra numbers (Sat) to enthuse them to return. C'mon the club do something about it because it won't happen on its own

Employing an experienced marketing manager by offering a competitive salary would open a lot of doors leading to an increase in attendances & sales revenue..surely these things are basic business strategies for a clearly successful businessman?

That £50k + spent on that kit launch at the shard could have funded two of those. Never did get any extra business from any of that. Also letting the hospice sponsor the kits for basically free didn't really provide the club with many funds.

Anyway it's the club's job to promote the business and sell tickets at the end of the day. Just a pity that the extra 2000 odd attendees from Saturday may not be seen again for a long while

Correct. The club should of jumped all over it like a Trump on cold chips this week, going into schools/advertising promotions around town etc. This is much more damaging to the club that ARH standing there with his hands on his hips last night 1-0 down which people seem to be more concerned about.

Couldn't agree more, some players not putting any effort in, continuous hoof ball the Southport centre backs won every ball which again seemed to go to a Southport player every time, no challenges from any Barrow player. Time to either give the fringe players a run out or Paul Casson to get the cheque book out as he hasn't spent any money on ground improvements.

Could be the reason for the apathy on the pitch?

Maybe this week's talks with Paul Cox (regarding the influx of new players) didn't go well. I'm sure the players have their own ideas regarding strengthening the team too.

I have, and I've also been to Barrow 800+ better than I'd have thought tbh.

@ the real slim a former member of this forum. In my opinion if Paul Casson had not bought our club, then we might not have one or very close to it.
You continue to go on about the kit launch at the shard, how do you know how much it cost? How do you know what the motives of PC were, it was his money he was spending.
Your continued downer on everything BAFC is getting boring. So you think you have all the answers, well answer this one, if you were PC how would you actually get the people of Barrow to actually want a football club.
The only way we will ever get to league 2 or beyond is if the people back PC not the other way round and sad to say i do not see that happening.
Apart from 1000 regulars and a lot more exiles who for one reason or another can not be there, the people of Barrow do not seem to live the dream.
I hope that PC gives it a while longer in the hope that things will change and that we can once again be part of the football league.
As for you a former member of this forum your constant downer on everything BAFC just annoys me, but of course it would seem you have all the answers.

We've got a canteen at work but I never use it because in my opinion the food is not varied enough and is over priced. I usually make a meal to take to work which I've made myself. If the canteen ever closed down it wouldn't bother me. However if they made the effort to improve the chow/put offers on/meal deals etc I probably would give it another go

So you think you have all the answers, well answer this one, if you were PC how would you actually get the people of Barrow to actually want a football club.

Unfortunately if theres one thing Bruce Almighty has taught us you cannot Interfere with free will. He, you nor I can make people turn up.

Perhaps following through with some of the promises made before control was taken might help, if not at least less time in front of the press and TV cameras and more talking to the fans. I know a few fans irked by the false promises made ( and seemingly forgotten about) .

Id totally start by cancelling Strakers jollydays at the club. Nice guy but not sure how hes landed a chief executive role at a football club.

Id be investing in someone with a marketing and sales background to promote the club and fix all the little things that arent functioning properly Day to day. They would have a big bonus to work towards (sales persons like that). That would be based on how many season tickets sold upon release up until the first game of the season.

Then there would be a process for staff members at the club to go through. Someone comes in for a shirt, ask them if they come to home games, if they say yes then ask do they have a season ticket if they say no explain the benefits of a season ticket.

" you dont have a season ticket? Well did you know you could save x amount a season and this week youll get a shirt for half price if you purchase a season ticket"

They would speak to other clubs and see how they run their side of things and work from there.

I wouldnt have left the club without internet for nearly 2 years. Especially if I had made my money in telecoms.

Id change the kits. Oh how Id change them and use the rest of the defunct stock as tea towels for behind the cross bar.
