Very good point. Still too much of the "I'll take 3rd bottom" rubbish flying around. If that's our ambition we might as well be in the NL and win a few games.

Spot on. Yes finishing 3rd bottom keeps u in the EFL and therefore the extra money continues to come in but the biggest issue with that mentality over a few seasons is that it will eventually bite u on the arse, a la Scunthorpe this season.

Not sure about that. At the start of last season I think most supporters were hoping for/expecting a good mid-table or higher finish. It was only as the season collapsed all around us that the siege mentality kicked in, and rightly so. I take comfort from the comments of the Newport supporter who said they bumped along for the first couple of seasons then slowly but surely found their feet and built from there.

Naturally enough none of us can predict the future. As a season ticket holder and long standing fan I’m buoyed by the willingness of the current owners to back the club financially (in a more measured way than Casson, who arguably saved the club), by the increase in numbers of spectators at home (regularly around the 3000 mark), by the passion and commitment of the travelling fans, and now with an ever improving infrastructure. The new manager and new sporting director buoy me too; obviously a reality check required until balls get kicked. As an average, committed, ageing fan I really don’t think we are in too bad a place just now. We should be pleased that we can watch full time professional sport on a regular basis, bearing in mind our relatively isolated geographic location, and always be able to hope.

I think that is absolutely fair comment, there is undoubtedly still an air of non-league about us right throughout the club including us as supporters. Perhaps inevitable after so long out of the Football League but it exists and is something we absolutely must shake off sooner rather than later if we want to become an established Football League club.

Kie, correct though it may be, Brown isn't doing it out of any genuine reflection. He's just sucking up to try and get another gig.

I would have understood if he got the job but am glad he didn't.

Spot on. 48 years of non league is deeply engrained and hard to shake. The only way is to keep improving steadily on and off the pitch. I’m very optimistic about Wild’s appointment and hoping after two very tricky seasons he can start shaping a Barrow footballing identity and a growing confidence in EFL surroundings. This will help us rid ourselves of some of the non-league identity crisis. If there is such a thing as learning from experience, these last two seasons have been steep learning curves for the whole club and can only serve to help us improve.

Bullet dodged IMO, he's just churning out the patter again. There's a reason he's been sacked from numerous clubs with a short period... history doesn't lie... Much happier with the Wild appointment
