The one thing that stood out for me was the unbelievable way the Carlisle fans got behind their team and manager, they are rock bottom of the league and have invested millions they were brilliant and I like others hope they stay up. They have had two terrible seasons yet they still back their team in their thousands and are a credit to their club.

Despite us feeling down and sorry for ourselves (truly a low point) we need to absolutely pack out Holker St for our remaining six home games. We need to show we can also lift our team to keep our coveted EFL membership. Together we can do it let’s demonstrate in our thousands to the BOD that we truly want a team in the EFL.

Win lose or draw in whatever league I’m Barrow till I die. COYB. :scarf:

Pity he didn’t show any sort of passion on the touch line!
We're you there? he was going mental at the 4th official at one point.

Carlisle have the best the loudest most vociferous travelling support in league 2 imo. They travel the length and breadth of the country in numbers and regularly sell out there away allocation at away games in the north of the country. Quite remarkable given there form this season and last

I've mentioned this before, this is what's going to hold us back, there must be at least 100,000 population within 12mls of barrow and we get around 3000 home fans, am afraid that's not enough to progress this club. In my humble opinion we should be getting around the 4000 mark ,

Your time in the non-league wilderness hasn't helped you on that front. Perhaps a prolonged stay in the EFL will help get those crowds up. The likes of Harrogate, Salford, Morecambe and Fleetwood have less potential than Barrow IMO.

But 2 of those teams are next door to some big teams, and Fleetwood has a population of only around 27000 and its close to Blackpool. We don't have any league teams anywhere near us.

What's Barrows population, around the 55,000 mark.
So an average gate of around 3,000 for Barrow isn't that bad when you look at say Bournemouth with a population of 200,000 and 'they' can only average 11,500 gate.

Have to agree with what you just said.Barrow has like you said spent many years in the football wilderness. When football grants were being handed out we as a club arrived late to the party and have a lot of catching up to do.
We also came back in just as Covid started so were faced with reduced crowds or non at all.Add to this that most young people had never seen a local team in the Football League so ended up following Premier League teams.
As a result we had to start from a much lower start point than a lot of other clubs. We need to find a way of bringing more income into the club by either increasing our local support, finding a new person who is able to add to.our two current owners with extra financial backing or maybe even building a hotel which would be owned by the club to generate a continuous income stream .
All these things will take time so as long as we can stay in the EFL and slowly progress improving things as we go.along.
Hopefully if everything works out Barrow AFC will.then be around for may years to come. Here,s hoping.

You can't really compare it to Bournemouth, as their capacity is only 12,000. I have a mate who is a Bournemouth fan and there is quite a number on a waiting list for season tickets, I'm positive if they had a 25,000 capacity stadium then it would be nearly full for most home games.

Bournemouth's stadium only holds 11,500. No doubt they'd get bigger attendances if the stadium were larger.

Ah got ya thanks-I didn't think to check their ground capacity.

They also have an incredibly rich owner which is why their attendances don't stop them falling down the ladder.

Barrows population is around 65000 , but as I said if you include towns within about 12mls then that increases to about 100,000 .

Double edged sword for growing attendance.

Agree with most that been said, non league wilderness, facilities etc but unless we are playing good football and winning more the crowds or support do or don't come.
We are pretty fickle when it comes to football.
Just look at how many went to Wembley on both occasions, how many went to Sunderland and middlesbrough.
You only have to watch how the form affects the attendance.
Due to work commitments, I don't get to the games anywhere near as much as I used to or should.

We don't have any junior teams accadamies reserves or anything. Things like this creates support. Our facilites, whilst better than before are still poor compared to others.

These things are needed to grow that support. Plus a winning team does help
