Only saw the tv coverage but a positive, determined and front-footed performance.

Pleased for Smith, perhaps suggesting doubters are wrong and a good show from Fletcher who deserves a run in the side. We have looked a better side when Harper has been in midfield.

Referee did well overall (good communication and decisive). Winterbottom, too, but hard to blame him for their goal - appeared that the ball was knocked out of his hands by contact with an opponent's head as Winterbottom returned to earth. Likely no intent on the part of the opponent and probably the correct decision from the ref but we have seen a free kick given in similar circumstances.

I thought Jackson and Fletcher looked more like they were last season particularly Fletcher who I thought was going on to bigger things but seemed to have lost his way this season till last night.

At 2-0 I thought we had a decent chance of getting a point! - a measure of the lack of confidence instilled by recent results. Fortunately tonight the players did not share that lack of confidence. Though Canavan's antics led to a vary nervous last half hour, for me at least. Fortunately Raglan was superb.

I thought Winterbottom was fouled for the Tranmere goal, but there didn't seem to be many complaints from the players on the pitch.

I thought the Tranmere player who ran to Winterbottom and shoulder charged him as he tried to clear the ball after his treatment was cheap and nasty should have been booked or even sent off shows what a nasty lot they were.

Agree what a sad individual going out of your way to hurt a fellow professional who was clearly in pain. I’m surprised the ref didn’t book him. Having said that some of the refs decisions were interesting to say the least.

Surely if they show the video of the incident to the relevant people they can still punish the Tranmere player retrospectively ? Isn,t that what Pete Wild's lot did to Josh Gordon when he got a retrospective red card after the match,so the precedent has already been set .

Absolute clown that Dennis, dives all over the place and likes to leave a little bit in. Not sure if it counts as violent conduct and can be retrospectively dealt with but I'd hope if or when we next face him that someone leaves something on him...
The ref should've booked him and would if he had anything about him, didn't even have a word, same with the lad who booted the ball away when it was our free kick and yet he couldn't get the second yellow out quick enough to Canavan for doing the same...

A real shame for Winterbottom as the Brough goal aside he had a very good game really, chance now for Stanway though to step back in.

I understand it's up to the club to contact the FA with a complaint.

I hope they do.
