Apparently it has to be ratified by the fa council,then ok’d by the Efl,then given the green light by the premier league, then passed by the government,then rubber stamped by Boris, then open for objection to anyone not happy about the result. Just [SwearFilter] sort it.

Upon declaration of a positive vote, the NL board will immediately convene to give thanks to St George (Best), patron saint of wayward footballers before despatching a pigeon of Her Majesty's Royal Avian flight to Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty, amid an assembly of sporting dignatries including Sir Gary Lineker, Sir Frank Warren, Sir Ian Botham, Sir Jessica Ennis-Hill and Sir Lewis De Hamilton, will then light the first of several hundred royal beacons in Windsor Great Park.

Simultaneously a royal warrant will then be despatched to the FA, and on receipt, the FA serjeant-at-arms is required to offer the traditional challenge to the FA Council "Who will rid us of this turbulent team?". The Council will then meet in session to offer prayers for the souls of promoted clubs during which a chicken will be sacrificed in solemn acknowledgement of the task they are about to perform.

A rider will then be despatched to parley with the EFL council in Warwick Castle and if in agreement, the EFL will declare a feast day during which much merriment and debauchery as befits such a splendiferous event will take place. Finally the EFL will formally countersign the Royal Decree (Regium Decretum) and issue the proclamation "Promovere ad gradum!" or "Promote them to the next level!"

The decree will then be conveyed to the centre of Barrow (Civitatem Centrum) by mule in the traditional manner.

They would have also need to ratify the vote by the EFL but didn't stop them awarding the championships etc... Let's not have another 150 pages of stressing out about the FA ratification that is just a formality.. We aren't over the line yet tho... The thread has been a bit like the situation we all find ourselves in - unprecedented. Throw lockdown into the equation and you have the basis of a "super" thread. It is not something that you would set out to create and it may never be repeated. Think of it as having replaced the dozens of threads that would normally have been written in its place.

Can only speak personally but I have got to know a number of forum members better through their posts and perhaps that is what a forum should be about. There are no last words Nige - just different things to discuss....eventually.
