Good things about tonight; the pitch is recovering well and the flags look good.

We didnt have the answers for a well drilled direct side - crying out for someone to put their foot on it in midfield - where's Shezza when you need him. Harrogate have a formula that works and we never worked out how to get by it. In fairness Evatt couldn't do it last year either with the side we had then. The effort was there, just not the quality...
Got to drum up the enthusiasm to edit the pics now...

trouble is Ian most clubs in this league are big ,athletic and well organised (John Goodwin) mentioned this to me before this season started and the longer we went on without getting a midfield general , goalscorer I knew deep down we'd struggle (not as bad as we have) i just think we lack quality not the effort!

Cant disagree there. We didnt really get bullied too much, just their methods suits their style of play, which we couldn't break down. Again, a draw was probably a fair result... but we know how that works dont we!!

I said a week ago. Apart from the two previous managerial appointments, getting rid of Angus could prove to be the biggest mistake this season. Yes he was a bit hit and miss but he had pace in abundance, was an outlet and was proven to work well with Quigley given some game time together. Who the hell sanctioned that?

Sadly he wasn't up to this level, at best he was a good National league player. Plenty of pace but no touch or ability to hold the ball up and just didn't look like scoring this season bar a couple of penalties. We needed a better quality of forward last summer and January but didn't get it.
Jamil Matt is proven at this level and David Dunn turned him down! Another recruitment disaster...

I think he may have not fitted into Michael Jolley's plans as he must have thought he was bringing in someone to replace him who he thought was a better player.How wrong was he.Here was a player who had just played one of his best games and about a week later we were told he had been released to Wrexham only to carry on scoring goals.I think he would have made the perfect partner with Quiggs tonight. Rob Kelly can only work with the players he has been left with.Losing game after game won't help team moral.Lets hope they turn it around Saturday.

Southend were under an embargo at the start of the season which I believe meant they were limited in the players that they had available. Since this was lifted, they've improved and have picked up 8 more points than we have over a twenty game period, which is a decent enough marker to show how good a team is. I really don't think that it is a case that the bottom three are as bad as each other, which is what I find most worrying.

Ha can't believe you of all people have a go about criticising people in charge! you're right they saved the club but I honestly believe we might not recover from relegation ( unless they're prepared to throw thousands of pounds to get us back in the league) Stockport, York they went straight down to conference north and Halifax nearly folded, it's serious and I'll still be there next season but if we go down you know the stick the board will get will be merciless !

Yep I did criticise Jollys appointment for his past record off the field but he was a billy bullshitter,I also said from day one Dunn was the wrong one.
Rob Kelly is left with what he has.
It's backs against the wall but a lot of people do not look at the overall picture .
I have been there for over 50 years,and remember the days where you looked round and thought where are the rest.
Dunn and then Jolly brought a lot of poor players in.
The Board have paid for their naivety .

But we did create chances just nothing clear cut. Dust ourselves down and go again against Mansfield on Saturday try and eliminate the mistakes that seem to be blighting us and hopefully give it a real go.

Mark I'm on your side but exactly when are we going to cut out mistakes, we don't put team's under any sort of pressure, we hardly get corners, free kicks around the danger areas and if we do our delivery/ awareness is just not there, I like to believe but belief doesn’t win games!

We've been needing to eliminate the mistakes and dusting ourselves down since August it's getting a bit repetitive.

Don’t think anyone’s giving up but just expressing our opinion. Let’s be honest Harrogate at home was a great chance to pick up points and once again we haven’t, then Colchester go and win so it’s back to just being 2 out 3 to go down. If we are still in the bottom 2 at the end of this month I really do fear that is that

Harrogate won 5 of last 8, can't understand how folk thought this would be a given. They are an effective side, we didn't play well and got sucked into their style of game. Personally think devitt should have started instead of banks.
RK has to have a think about the set up for Saturday
