Released/Retained
Re: Released/Retained
Sorry to see Whitfield go.
Worries me little news of incoming players.
Be good to hear who is staying.

Re: Released/Retained
There's no news of incoming players because the window isn't open yet. The team was not built around Whitfield and, believe it or not, there are other players out there.
Don't let the old man in.

How come we are hearing teams signing players?MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 10:52 pmThere's no news of incoming players because the window isn't open yet. The team was not built around Whitfield and, believe it or not, there are other players out there.
Mattie Platt leaving Bradford and signing for Notts County .

Re: Released/Retained
They seem to be signing anyone who has played for Stockport in the last few seasons

No transfer fee involved in each transaction.

Re: Released/Retained
He is a one trick pony a winger and that is it. Tried at wing back and in a front two and disappointed IMO. If you don't play with two wingers he is surplus to requirements. Stockport found that out and let him go. We need players who can produce in more than one system

He was out of contract and a free agent.Pedro wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 10:59 pmHow come we are hearing teams signing players?MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 10:52 pm

Re: Released/Retained
Lots of decent players are out of contract and free agents. The majority of players we are likely to sign will be free agents. Doncaster have signed 6 already and many others in our league have also signed several players.

Re: Released/Retained
Very harsh that. He isn’t a striker and he isn’t a wing back, still a very good player at this level. Who knows whether we might play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 this season in which case he’d have been a massive asset?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 8:58 amHe is a one trick pony a winger and that is it. Re: Released/Retained
Had some very good games for us, I think he was put on the back burner by Wild towards the end of last season. Sorry to see him leave to be honest. Best of luck with the rest of your career Ben.
Re: Released/Retained
Well if the new gaffer wants George Ray back he is still available. He has not had any discussions with any other team yet!!!!

Re: Released/Retained
We've got forwards Dom Telford, Ged Garner, Emile Acquah & Katia Kouyate to strike fear into any league 2 defence nothing to worry about just let the new management get on with it.

Re: Released/Retained
We haven't a clue whether Kouyate will be good or bad but I can't see the other 3 striking too much fear into any defence. I'd be more than happy if Telford and Garner were both moved on before the season begins because if they are going to be the basis of our strike force then we will be in serious trouble!behind the goals wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 12:23 pm We've got forwards Dom Telford, Ged Garner, Emile Acquah & Katia Kouyate to strike fear into any league 2 defence nothing to worry about just let the new management get on with it.
