Indeed, his dismissal turned a disappointing season into one where league status is at serious risk.
I diagreee. Whing had run his course and PH said in his interview players and staff murmurings told them it wasn't working. Not replacing him with an experienced manager is the big mistake. imo
I agree that the time had come for Whing to go. I also agree that not replacing him with an experienced manager was another mistake. Clemence was a mistake, Whing was a mistake, Gallagher was a mistake. In my, and many others, opinion letting Wild go was a mistake...so WHO is making these mistakes?

The owners of the club. The buck stops with them imo. They hold the purse strings they ultimately have the final yes or no in things . Yes we will always be grateful for what they have done but that does not mean that Hornby, Shearer and Wilkes should never be immune from criticism when things go wrong.

This weekend the clubs around us have harder games but can see the crowd getting on Barrow's back early on if there is no improvement, as to Harrogate on Tuesday our record against them is not great and we came up with them. The passing is poor, commitment questionable and the high balls never work when we beat Tranmere we played the ball on the ground pass and go, we seem to have lost the basic instincts of football.

The biggest mistake made has been handing the keys to the castle to a football agent

The club has no infrastructure by all accounts poor training facilities - players training in hats and coats - no other teams than the first team - all of these things contribute to the shit show

You can’t build a house on top of a jelly

We’ve for two long fallen into the wrong mindset. I am still convinced we have some good players at the club and the owners have backed the managers with what ever they wanted. 17 games left but can’t see us winning anytime soon

Best chance will be to get rid now - get someone like that Derek Adams and get back to basics - it’s not a complicated game stop the other team putting the ball in your net and get the ball in theirs simple

Absolutely, AW was out of time and ideas. As soon as a manager/head coach loses the changing room (rightly or wrongly) his time is up. Add onto that the dire football, the formations, the odd substitutions and there was no way back for him.

McDonald was never the answer either, nothing much changed when he was in temporary charge.

PG was a huge gamble & it looks like it’s backfiring massively. It definitely has similarities with the Jolly debacle. Always looking for the next IE has held us back with these appointments.

Can’t get my head around the calls for PW being asked to come back, lots of short memories. The football was never good to watch, the substitutions were always being criticised by everyone on here and let’s not forget the form that cost us a play-off place. He left here under a cloud and has done the same at Fleetwood. Perhaps there’s a reason for that.

What a situation to be in, the new manager is five or six games in and we “could” be on the lookout for the next one!

As if things couldn’t get worse, Smith, who has been hitting some decent form of late is now out for four weeks!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

God forbid we miss out on the playoffs.
Mid table in league 2 forever is infinitely better than going down as we will absolutely never get back up. That’s the reality.

Yep there’s no denying he didn’t get us in the playoffs twice, the football wasn’t great at times but we were never near relegation. IMO he was a great fit for Barrow for those craving stability. He had a plan or appeared to have one and he had a great connection with the fans.
None of us knows what went on at Barrow and it would appear at Fleetwood his hands were tied but for me I’d have him back in a heartbeat.

He has left both clubs under a cloud, Fleetwood no chance of relegation. The majority of Fleetwood fans didn’t agree with the sacking. Obviously a flaw in Wild that only those that employ him see.

Under Pete Wild was the last time I felt we were joined as one. Fans, players, manager, board. That's what he brought to us. It was a real feel-good factor. Missing out on play-offs allowed us to dare to dream. What do we have now? Nightmares. Remove the blocker. Get him back. Let him manage.

All managers are flawed, some less than others but the reality is since he departed the club has gone on a downward spiral. Yes we can remember the rainy days under Wild but there were also some very sunny days tearing Stockport apart for one beating Harrogate our bogey side. Being honest anything is better than the current shit shower we have.

It’s good we all have different opinions nothing wrong with that at all but whatever the situation is we can only opt for what’s available and PW is one of those.

He had his best players sold at Fleetwood and expectations are unrealistic at that club. The expectations at our club are the same tbf.

Not convinced another manager recently sacked from a relegation threatened team is the answer but what do I know I've never played the game at Holkers level so couldn't possibly have an opinion.

I don't know who is contracted beyond the end of this season, I only know loan players aren't.
ANY club with an ounce of brains has a relegation clause built into player contracts.
Gallagher needs to sit down with said players and explain the truth in terms they can understand ( as generally footballers aren't the brightest)
IF WE GO DOWN YOUR WAGES WILL ( at a guess) HALVE!
SO GET YOUR COLLECTIVE FINGERS OUT TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN!!!.

If we go at least go fighting.
