Perhaps Barcode might let us have a commemorative ribbon, they seem to be the memento of choice down Atherstone way.

Probably best we stay away from those idiots. The guy who runs that facebook page is clearly quite thick and over defensive. Our clubs been to the FA about the matter so its probably just best left there.
Couldn't help but laugh at this Atherstone Town FC facebook page post.
" Please tell me how much profit did barrow FC make on the selling of t shirts referencing that awful day quoting something like
"I survived Atherstone Town"? "
Probably not a lot
Is that really on their facebook page or is that YOU having a laugh, a former member of this forum?

I can't believe these people were actually given air time on t.v. to spread further lies regarding what happened. Their support campaigners making them out to be young people carried away with the excitement of the day.
They were thugs hell bent on causing harm to opposing fans, whatever age or sex. Some with previous offenses for violence in the past. Their behaviour was in question in the town centre before the game where it could have been stopped if action had been taken against them there and then.
I am thankful Chris Altree had the foresight to make plans for us to visit a village pub outside of Atherstone to avoid any such confrontation and arriving just prior to kick off.
That t.v. station should give a balanced view if they are getting involved in this campaign. The Atherstone facebook page tells it all when they say they will remove any negative posts---oh you mean like the truth.
The F.A. should ban the club from the competition but I doubt they will. Their derisory £350 fine says it all regarding their stance on what happened.

Good decision. Arriving from London and looking forward to lunch in the town, it was quickly made clear to us that we wouldn't be welcome in certain pubs. Which was most of them. The thugs had already taken over, with flares & smoke bombs being let off in the town centre. It was clear then that the locals were hell bent on causing trouble, yet nothing was done about it.
Another question that needs answering is why, according to a police officer I spoke to when leaving the match well before the final whistle, they were not allowed into the ground until long after the assaults on the Barrow supporters had taken place?
