The idea of having a defensive coach is a good one and showed as a club we were going in the right direction. Shame it hasn't worked out.

Murray being made the scapegoat ? Similar to Rodgers and Colin Pascoe.

What are the true facts then ?

I just guessed that he's pretty shit at his job (as his record suggests) and from that his wage wasn't justifiable so got the boot. No big loss in my opinion.

Not a great record as hartlepool manager so was little surprised when we took him on board .

Decent fella.
Off the books to make way for another player? Who says money is no object? Maybe it is.

We know it is, he wouldn't increase the budget to sign Andy Bond

Mr Casson said from the start we are working to a budget. He might be prepared to stretch it now and then but if Murray was on a 3 year contract it could cost just as much to keep him on as let him go, we don't know the terms of his departure. Regardless of cost, the clear change is that he is not coaching the team anymore.

On reasons for Murry leaving, as BBC RC said last night they have left it open to speculation as no one was answering their phone.

Mr Casson came over this week. He said he wanted to find out what was going on, given the poor start (and fan unrest). It is possible Mr Casson/Edmo made the decision to let Murry go based on whatever was said at that meeting. BBC RC suggested over staffing might have been identified.

It could also be as someone has suggested, cover for Edmo on the touchline while he served his ban, which might explain why they don't want to talk about the reason for him leaving. They have refused to talk about Edmo's ban this season and BBC RC kept joking about the subject they dare not bring up.

It could simply be down to suitability for the job, they got it wrong so let him go. Hartlepool didn't give a reason either, though 5 defeats, 1 draw and 1 win, which included going out of the FA Cup at home to a non-league side speaks volume.

Murry has played his part and I wish him well but I can't help thinking it doesn't look good on his managerial/coaching record, it looks very poor right now.

Depends on whether he thought he was worth it. That's why players are all on different wages. Murray took alot of responsibility while Edmo was banned and away from training for a week. I sure he thought he was here for a longer stint. However with a poor start I think he outstayed his welcome after tye boss's visit.

Radio: Casson did not blame Murray but felt formula of having two mangers in the dugout has been affected by adding a third. "if i want the club to go places i must make the decisions that i think will aid that; whether or not this will, we will see".

Comment from Andy Wood on Radio Cumbria to the effect that it was PC who decided to release Murray as he felt that one reason for our poor results was the 3 coaches formula. No criticism directly of Murray.

So that's that cleared up.

Didn't hear Mr Casson himself but heard it mentioned on BBC RC post match that this is the case. Poor lad.

Nope, not "poor lad" from what I've heard... He was holding the team back more than you'd think possible for someone third in command.

Edmo and Meeks work well together , having a 3rd guy on board, talking transfers , who too play etc wasn't a luxury it was too many guys round the table , crazy getting him in ! He wants too be top dog as in coach so I only seen him being here for a little while!
