keep dixon,livesey,anderton/sutton,tomlinson if possible,harvey,howarth(sorry hoss!)cook,possibly walker!

Whatever we need in midfield I am sure it isn't anything in the mould of "John Terry's" brother he is an odious man and was a horrible footballer.

Wonder if Cox could poach Matt Greene from Mansfield for a pop at going up ... It could be one of the most exciting close seasons ever as long as they don't start the 'big announcement next week caper' again... Some movement on the ground plans,players leaving to free up budgets for better players, improved commercial stuff from our new manager and some freshening up of our current facilities all over the next few months as the clubs learning curve continues

Interesting comment from Andy Woods on RC. Apparently Cox has already made several pre-contract agreements with players and wants to get his squad settled early doors,gelling, and hitting the ground running come August. Then again he may be referring to current players already on the books whose contracts are nearly up.

Jordan Williams will be one as we have an option for next season, Parry probably another.
If Tomlinson and Sutton's contracts are up in the Summer Barrow can sign pre-contract agreements with them and I'd be surprised If Cox hasn't looked into that.

damn - i'm hoping that we can get him - he's a solid player who Tranmere's manager Brabin doesn't seam to like for some reason according to their fans - If he's still on contract offering to take him off Tranmere's hands might work though...

From the players from the present squad I'd like to see the following:

Keep: Dixon, Livesey, Grand, S Williams, Parry, ARH, Cowps, Cook, Walker, J Williams.

Sign: Sutton, NWA(If possible, but don't think PNE will let him go), Tomlinson.

Release: Symington, Ashton, Fofana, Lacey, Mellor, Grimes, Haworth, Pilkington. (Those on two year contracts will still be shown the door).

Only keep Newby x 2, Carroll, if there is a reserve team.

Signings: I will leave that up to Mr. Cox

The rest aren't up to it and can go, although as pointed out it will be easier said than done to move on the likes of Grimes and Fofana who have a year left.

As for new signings I wouldn't be surprised if Cox went for Louis Briscoe from Wrexham, a player who tore us apart a couple of times for Mansfield. Tall, quick winger who was a star player in their team when they went up and is still only 27/28. Would certainly fit the bill for us if he can recapture that form. I have faith in Cox to get the right players though unlike Edmondson, he seems able to identify what is required and has molded a struggling group of players into one that has become a difficult team to beat.

I'm amazed Grand is anybodies keep list.

Why? Grand is one of our better players this season. He may have the odd rush of blood but he and Livesey are one of the best CB partnerships in the league.

Grand was dropped originally because of all the mistakes he was making, and while he's improved under Cox, he's still being solely responsible for a number of goals through misplaced passes, poor marking and at least one daft penalty. Definitely not one of the best in the league! He may do as a squad player, but nothing more.
