I for one hope you as a trust, never have any control in our club.
How would you have handled it dixie?
to be honest not sure, but would not have gone legal.

Ridiculous post, and actually very annoying...........you weren't there so you've read the scraps on here and come up with that!!

Then when asked how you would've handled it you're "not sure" but, you were sure enough to come up with that drivel.

The final decision might not have suited everyone but it took a long time to come to along with a lot of advice by quite a few people who investigated as much as they could before deciding this was in our view the best solution for the members.

The situation has been resolved. Decisions taken and a change in practise to prevent a re-occurence. Move on

Think this should never have been put on a fans forum, would have preferred to find out via an e-mail from the Trust.
If the Evening Mail run a story on this then it'll do a lot of damage to the Trust and the many good people who run it.

Totally agree personal statements etc should not be put on here this is so unprofessional and to be honest I'm surprised that this has been allowed to happen :sentoff:

If the Trust had done that then this forum, you included, would have accused them of being a closed shop, secretive clique.

This forum serves as one way of communicating what happens at Barrow AFC

Frankly, if any of the posts saying different are out of misguided concern for the individual involved..well I would say he is getting off extremely lightly right now, I guess it comes down to whether you believe the statement or not. That's for individuals to decide but in my opinion shouldn't be hidden away.

Quite possibly the Trust would have been accused on here and elsewhere of being a closed shop, but incorrectly so in my opinion. The affairs of the Trust are primarily the concern of the members, not the public at large. I accept, however, that there is a general interest and concern from the public insomuch as the regrettable incidents at the Trust impact, if they do, on Barrow AFC.

Nevertheless, Trust members - myself included - should have been informed of this before the general public, preferably in advance of the AGM. Once the situation was revealed at the meeting it was effectively in the public domain, as it only takes one person to post details on the forum. And once it was on the forum facts inevitably become distorted.

As a long time customer of The Furness Building Society I find it disturbing that this man works there,
If simple "mistakes" have been made with the trust what on earth could have gone wrong at the FBS.
I will be writing to the FBS with my concerns.

I think it can be safely said that FBS deals with far larger funds and has greater security measures than the trust ever will. Not sure what your motive is, but do keep the forum up to date with your correspondence.

He doesn't work there anymore.

To clarify, Pete requested his statement be put on here to put his side of the story across and clear up a few things.

I was not aware of this.
My point still stands though.
