Re: Magnificent Seven
Why didn't ARH put a request in at start of season if he wasn't happy? Seems odd that he does it as Paul cox got a new job.

Re: Magnificent Seven
Mainly because he played his best football under coxy. Guisely actually bid for al ray before he put the request in.
To be fair he also had other options at National League level. Also obviously not happy about the situation over summer. Players move on for lots of differant reasons - as much as I feel u are looking for a conspiracy theory there isnt one. Its not uncommon for managers to sign ex players

Re: Magnificent Seven
That's not true. Part-time players possibly but full-time clubs like we apparently are usually pay their players for 52 weeks. I believe the issue with Harvey was that his contract was still on the old terms, dating back to when we were part-time. So in that respect some of what you say is true. Harvey and his agent could/should have had the common sense to think that maybe at some point that contract wouldn't work if/when we were full-time. Nobody can tell the future though.
For me, the bottom line is that if you want to keep players happy that's no way to go about it. I'm no Harvey fan, far from it. But I don't blame him for being [SwearFilter] off with those terms, and if the club wanted to keep him happy they should have renegotiated a full-time contract.

Re: Magnificent Seven
I have no connection to any other players at the club. I dont actively persue new clients at the club, as I much prefer being impartial and having no interest in the club other than what happens on the pitch as a fan.
A couple of things here JT.
So ARH wasn't your client and neither was Liam Hughes until they were Barrow players. Looks to me like you were on a recruiting drive from within the club. I apologise if that's wrong but it's the impression I get.
I also heard Nieskins was here when you approached him too. Can you clear that up.? These things need to be asked and you have the right to reply.

Re: Magnificent Seven
No worries HB.
Both players approached me. We had a chat about what they want - and worked together. To be fair Ive known both lads socially a number of years.
I signed neiskens before he was at the club when he was playing abroad.

Re: Magnificent Seven
A serious question (I might be missing something here) but between them two sections of posts, are we saying ARH's contract hadn't been updated since we signed him in the CN?
Basically, he was happy to plod along on three or four year old terms while new signings came & went all around him while signing new and improved contracts.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Magnificent Seven
If I was an agent - which I'm not as I don't have parasitical tendencies - I'd stay well clear of the club I claim to love even if I thought I was helping them as no matter what good things you do the one bad thing (or 6) would be what people remembered, nor would I show anyone no matter how close anything to do with my clients.

Re: Magnificent Seven
Depends on the club, I know when Morecombe went full time they only paid them for 40 weeks. Some of the players had summer jobs - Garry Thompson worked in a sports shop etc.
End of the day, if you aren't happy with a contract after you've read it then don't sign the sodding thing. It's not difficult.
Re: Magnificent Seven
Just agents doing what agents do best, putting ideas in players heads and unsettling them and the club just for a few ££
Re: Magnificent Seven
We are not talking about highly skilled lads so they want to get more money they will move cannot see them going to the Gulf or China to play, not all are like Darren Anderton(sick note)

Re: Magnificent Seven
It’s only my opinion, but you haven’t done yourself any favours by coming on here with an entirely self serving statement designed to justify your behaviour in relation to certain players at the club.
What are you hoping to achieve?
It’s a fact of life that footballers’ agents, at any level, are regarded as parasitic, and without integrity, and without any useful purpose other than to line pockets at anyone’s (literally) expense.
Speaking personally, in those circumstances, I find it an insult that you post on here.
We may disagree on this forum about all sorts, but at least we are genuine fans of the club; you, clearly, are not. If you pretend to be, you shouldn’t be an agent. Ever heard of conflict of interest? Probably not.

Re: Magnificent Seven
Not hoping to achieve anything. Just wanted to set a few things straight as a lot of what has been said about me on here representing certain players/things i have supposingly done was false.
I find your opinion on agents very black and white and basic.
I have supported the club for 25 years. Conflict of interest? Yes probably. Lesson learnt
