I think it’s a win/win for the club. Money coming in at a time before fans can come and even afterwards the club get money for home games that maybe barrow fans in the south can now virtually attend through this scheme. Surely set up to make the most of the money available.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:34 pmI inquired & was told we get 70% which is great really when you consider the EFL pay for all the logistics etcAlley_Cat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:32 pm This is a good service but i think £10 is too expensive. Maybe if i could actually watch it on a tv i'd consider a couple of matches but not streamed to laptop, also when i pay to get in at HS i do in the knowledge that all that money goes to the club.
How much will the club get from the £10?

Mmmmmm not quite that lucrative i believe after you deduct the VAT ,the FL.s cut and the expenses of the company they sub it out to clubs are left with £6.65.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:34 pmI inquired & was told we get 70% which is great really when you consider the EFL pay for all the logistics etcAlley_Cat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:32 pm This is a good service but i think £10 is too expensive. And i believe there are some costs associated with it that the clubs have to cover themselves [ i believe providing the audio commentary might be one maybe Adam might know that one. I know at Carlisle the club and BBCRC do a deal each season where payment for providing the commentary is deducted from the fee the station pay to provide their coverage. It's a strange one really as not many other clubs go down this route makes you wonder why not. ]
The coverage varies vastly across the clubs and isn't really determined by the league the club is in. Doncaster, for instance, spent a fortune setting up their own in house operation but any clubs that have their own in house tv channel usually use those assets to provide the coverage which means its a lot better than the single-camera coverage you get from a lot of clubs.
Big shout out to the lads who do the commentary at Morecambe Freez and his mate its like listening to a couple of lads watching the match in the pub and chatting about it.
In the first season, they were part of the i. follow system it cost Accy 20k to set it up and run it for the season and Andy Holt reckoned they lost 10k on the year.

Shall we just round it up to the nearest pound and call it 70%?NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:50 pmMmmmmm not quite that lucrative i believe after you deduct the VAT ,the FL.s cut and the expenses of the company they sub it out to clubs are left with £6.65.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:34 pm

Re: Sky live streaming
So if Accy recieved 6.65 per listener & generated 10k that’s roughy only 1,500 subscribers over the season & what around 22/25 home games, That’s hardly anyone tuning in Oooh r am I missing something here?NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:50 pmMmmmmm not quite that lucrative i believe after you deduct the VAT ,the FL.s cut and the expenses of the company they sub it out to clubs are left with £6.65.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:34 pm

Well there wasn’t Covid-19 so most fans were attending games I guess. I think now we would be getting a lot more with no fans in.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:53 pmSo if Accy recieved 6.65 per listener & generated 10k that’s roughy only 1,500 subscribers over the season & what around 22/25 home games, That’s hardly anyone tuning in Oooh r am I missing something here?NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:50 pm

I’m fully aware of that but still think it’s low numbers, if they played 25 games then that’s an average of 60 subscribers per game for a L1 club, I would have thought they would have had more that’s all.mightywhite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 12:58 amWell there wasn’t Covid-19 so most fans were attending games I guess. Yes, it was very low and even worse when you deduct the foreign subscribers who paid just £100 for the season of which apparently there were quite a few it's even worse and was I believe about a quarter of what the FL estimated that they would take in the first season when they were putting pressure on them to provide it.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 1:13 pmI’m fully aware of that but still think it’s low numbers, if they played 25 games then that’s an average of 60 subscribers per game for a L1 club, I would have thought they would have had more that’s all.mightywhite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 12:58 am

There were a number of reasons that the figures were crap that first season some to do with the transition from their inhouse website over to the FL template [ which BAFC might experience too ] before the change the lads who did the Accy media used to stick clips up on YouTube during the match which people had got used to and they weren't happy when that stopped and i believe that the figures have improved considerably since to the point where it actually made them some money last season
