Lost 5-4

At least our penalties have improved!

Decent enough game that. Thought Maloney had stopped two of their pens, he made two cracking saves in the last 5 minutes to save the draw though to be fair

I thought the competition was on a group basis, why do they go to penalties if the game is a draw ?

I quite enjoyed watching. Plenty of spiirit in the team, quite a few good performances. Last 10-15 mins we seemed to lose our way and the defence looked shaky. Too many crosses not being cut out and finding Accrington forwards. Ellis doesn't seem to be as much in control at the back as he should be with his experience. However, overall, not a bad effort.

The only thing I've learned tonight is moloney is not a good No 2. Festus Arthur improved and my MOM

A bit of deja vu with their second goal. Like Harrogate, deflection off a Barrow player (White in both cases?) looping high in the air and keeper misjudges it. A bit unlucky really.

Both teams get a point. Penalty winners get a bonus point.

Excellent tactical drawing defeat. Only dampener on the night is yet another knock for Kgosi, and possibly one for Gordon?

Injury to Nthle and result aside I thought that we looked ok in spells and kept working to get back into it.

Pity we lost the pen shoot out but the players who scored them each took their pens well. If we get one in a league game- give it to Banks.

Thought we did well. Couple of softish goals but reserve keeper in so can be forgiven.
Liked Arthur very physical did well in the middle, white is bloody great constantly giving it everything he’s got.

First half forgettable. Revived by a bovril second half was a decent watch. As both teams had benched their better players the subs actually improved the quality

Unfortunately a night for Moloney to forget. Made one very good save but was otherwise error prone. Kicking weak, distribution poor. I have no idea how he contrived to save a penalty and then allow the ball into the net. He won’t feature except in emergencies and l’d still go with Lillis as number 2.

Otherwise apart from James Jones who didn’t look match sharp they all put a shift in. And as we saw for the first time tonight you don’t mess with Festus.
