Other than that they didn't create much. Good away support although the figure wasn't mentioned. 200/250 I would guess. Onwards and upwards.
The Mansfield commentators mentioned the away support. I think they said 193.
Nicks Guestimate wasent far away then.
Great 3pts that
Will Ollie Banks suspension not be Tuesdays Cup game or are they separate to league games?

That he's off to Newport as their new manager. (See other Mansfield thread)

Just got home (only 25 miles to Mansfield) - still buzzing! Great performance despite the conditions. They could have got a draw towards the end, but it would have been harsh on Barrow as we had several good chances. Love the team spirit, hard to pick anyone out. Ollie Banks will become a cult hero if he isn’t careful! Great support (190 something was mentioned on the PA). Finally, PLEASE do not get a drum, the incessant banging stops proper support - I much prefer our songs and banter.

Great result, things looking good on the pitch now.

Hopefully start paying local businesses what is owed off the pitch and all will be good.

Really beginning to gel as a side & when the injured lads return we will be even stronger, Wish list extend both Gotts & Stevens contracts & Coopers, As he will take us to where we all want to go, A proper League club challenging for honours :scarf:

Good battling performance . Clean sheet . Chances being created .... there are good signs in many directions . These players are gelling as an effective squad . Let's hope we can build on this start now and get a run of results going ...it's all good for confidence .,..and will hopefully draw in a few more home supporters on a regular basis as well . Great stuff lads . Something to build on .
First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

There are some really really positive signs starting to show from this side now. Playing decent football, creating chances and working hard. We actually look like a good side.

It's early days for them but Stevens and Gotts are beginning to look like two of the best signings we've made in recent years. Them coming in has made a huge difference and enabled the team as a whole to step up a level from where we were previously (which wasn't terrible).

The one negative from today is maybe that we made hard work of it. We were comfortably better than Mansfield but us failing to take our chances allowed them to get a foothold in the game. We deserved the points unquestionably but do need to be more ruthless at times.

Things are looking positive for the rest of the season, but keeping Cooper is key.

Strange match as Mansfield had more of the play but Barrow had more of the chances. Kay and Zanzala both missed absolute sitters and Zanzala should also have got on the end of a great Brough cross near the end. Stevens and Gotts have transformed the team. Gotts never stops running and is everywhere. Stevens disappears at times but has a lot of skill. Both of them have football brains, are quick, know when to pass and where to pass it. Banks also playing well but Gotts was Man of the Match for me. The referee today was certainly not a 'homer' and gave us more than our fair share of decisions.
