30 points left to play for ? and need 5 points just to get in playoffs now if other teams lose. I'd guess around 20 points needed minimum so personally i think we'll miss out but a top half finish would be an amazing achievement this season.

We needed to beat Sutton and win today to keep the dream alive, it feels like an even taller order now if we’re being honest. Mansfield have 2 games in hand and will likely dislodge Salford in the final play-off place.

Today even I the eternal optimist, believe the dream is finally over - shame really after we started the season so well - I don’t buy into this “well next season we’ll be stronger line.”
Next season we’ll be competing against the mighty Wrexham and probably Notts County and money bags Forest Green Rovers.

And neither do I.
I do agree with folk that says we're not ready in terms of the ground etc but, in football, you have to take what you can when you can and 'we' fell away when it mattered whereas Carlisle for example, came strong when it mattered. There is certainly nothing guaranteed next season in terms of "We'll be stronger"-will we?, only time will tell.

All leagues are brutal no guarantee of anything regardless of budget.

Four teams better than us will also leave the league, so that doesn’t make much of a difference.

Not sure the the dream was anything more than just that.

At this stage of the season to close even a Five point gap with so many other teams involved is not realistic even if it appears quite possible.

Same goes for relegation of course. If you are nine points ahead of a team with nine games to play you will very rarely get caught no matter what the maths say.

Issues around what we do in the close season are actually far more interesting but they can wait for a few games.

But I’ve nothing against dreams if it maintains a bit of interest and brings more bodies through the gates.

Wild will have one eye on next season already. There will likely be two very strong well established clubs joining the league next season from the National League who will expect to be competing at the top of the table. Summer recruitment is going to be crucial to maintain steady progress. Think we’ll see a much changed first team squad next season.

I would say Morecambe and possibly Accrington coming down will impact more on any signings we may be after than Wrexham

Not trying to say there should be a lack of ambition, but realistically sticking around mid table for a further few seasons wouldn't be an issue whatsoever. Anything beyond that would be a bonus.

Not over till the fat person sings (see what I did there?l

Football is an entertainment business as it is a sport, and the big question is "are you entertained"?
What I'm getting at is the, let's settle for mid table, let's see what next year brings, we are pinching, we are not ready etc...

We are a football team and the aim of the game is to win or at very least get a draw!!!!

Will the crowds increase being a team that has little or no desire or will to do any of the above? Will we improve attendance by being a mid table outfit as some like to say?

People want blood guts and glory...sorry. people want that excitement, that energy and rush from a thrilling game or knowing that their team almost died trying!!

Even now, there is still a whiff ..we have nothing to loose, we are safe and still up there..[SwearFilter] it, go for it and give it you BEST

Play offs probably over now but we owe Carlisle big time. Not beaten them since we came up.

Yep, we need to become L2 established on and off the pitch. Not sure how restricted L2 is by FFP but that will impact how much we have for the player budget. 55% of income on player budgets in EFL2?
