Good result after a poor first half. It seems to be a regular occurrence that we set up wrong and then have to correct it. Good management to see the problem, but not so good to create it. However, I do think PW is a good manager and we need to keep him at all costs. Wimbledon fans must never feel confident of their leads as they give them away so often. Another double for us!
Nice gap to Swindon and Doncaster below us, and in touch with Mansfield and Sutton who drew against each other.
Just seen an interesting stat on the BBC website - it looked as though our attendance and Stevenage’s was identical (which looked suspicious), but we got 3794 whereas they got 3749 …Good attendance given where we are compared to them.

Yes, it looked as if Carlisle had sorted themselves yet another 0-0 until Gillingham scored a 94th minute winner. Let's not be smug though, we face the Gills at Holker Street a week today.
Salford turning over Stevenage at Broadhall Way was the big surprise for me.
Looking ahead to next season, a couple of almost local trips to Accrington and Morecambe are on the cards. Both should be good days out.

My first game for 3 years due to one thing and another, terrible first half and looked absolutely ineffective against a poor Wimbledon. Second half was like a breath of fresh air, as soon as we got stuck into them it was more like the Barrow I remember. I’ll be back for more next week.

It was a disappointing start for Barrow as they conceded a goal just five minutes into the game. AFC Wimbledon's Luke Jenkins scored a right-footed shot from the center of the box following a set-piece situation, putting Barrow on the back foot early on.

However, Barrow managed to fight back in the second half, and on the 61st minute, Niall Canavan scored a header from a corner to level the scoreline. The game remained tied until Josh Gordon scored for Barrow after a goalmouth scramble, putting them in the lead with just over 20 minutes remaining.

Despite having 60% possession and attempting 9 shots on goal with 4 on target, it was not an easy win for Barrow. The game was a forgettable one, but Barrow managed to grind out a much-needed win to stay in touch with the play-offs.

The attendance at the game was 3,794, with 186 away supporters. Overall, it was a hard-fought victory for Barrow, and they will be looking to build on this win and continue their push for a play-off spot.

After a first half when Barrow seemed devoid of ideas going forward- and trailed 0-1 after a Wimbledon free kick 5 minutes in- we scored twice in a much improved second half performance which strengthens our 10th place position.

Four minutes in, Jake Young fouled Ogundere 20 yards out from goal on the right. Little’s free kick found Jenkins who scrambled the ball in from close range.

A couple of minutes later Whitfield won a corner from which a Kay shot was blocked.

Ten minutes in, Farman saved a McAteer shot. The 25th minute saw the first booking, Ogundere for a foul on Gordon. However, it was evident at this point, and for the remainder of the half, that we were showing little creativity going forwards with sideways and backwards passing the order of the day, and occasional balls forward which were too easily intercepted by the visitors.

Wimbledon’s more direct approach almost paid dividends as balls rained in on Barrow’s goal towards the end of the half. In added time, a foul by White on Chislett gave Little another free kick, Farman eventually saving at close range from Chislett for a corner. A Woodyard shot from the resultant corner was then blocked, the whistle for half-time being some relief for Bluebirds fans.

The half-time team talk saw Barrow take on a more attacking role in the second half, especially down the left wing with Canavan feeding Brough and Kay.

Seven minutes in the visitors had a second yellow when Currie fouled Whitfield. From the latter’s free kick, the ball fell to Kay who sliced wide of the left post.

However, another minute on there was action down the other end when Farman dropped the ball from a Jannah cross, but the resultant corner was cleared. Neal was then booked for a foul on Currie but Little’s free kick was cleared.

However, we were now in the ascendancy and, on the hour, Canavan headed in at the far left post from a Whitfield corner for 1-1. Whitfield was then booked for a foul on goalie Broome to level up the cards at two each.

In the 63rd minute, Gotts and Foley replaced Young and Neal, and shortly after, Feely came on for Warren.

In the 74th minute, we took the lead after another Whitfield corner from the right. This time the breakthrough was a close-range shot from Gordon after the goalmouth scramble had already resulted in cries for handball.

Just after Barrow’s goal, Wimbledon replaced Jenkins with Bendle, and a few minutes later McAteer and Woodyard made way for Bartley and Pearson.

In the 85th minute, Chislett was fouled 20 yards out and Little’s free kick from the left was saved by Farman.

More late changes were made as Barrow brought Garner and Ray on for Whitworth and Kay. Wimbledon replaced Janneh with Yeboah.

In the last of six minutes of added time, Little was booked for a foul on Gordon as we saw the game out well.

The attendance was 3,794 including 186 visitors. Canavan was awarded Barrow’s man of the match, the much improved second half finally earning a deserved victory which keeps play-off hopes alive.

That game was a microcosm of our season, with our best and worst on display.

After a thoroughly disjointed and cohesion-free performance in the first 45 we have to be delighted to have turned that around in the second period. And the sun shone brightly too.

So, after the relief of our own resurrection (Wimbledon had a banner claiming they were resurrectionists) we have to be pleased to have pulled off what we have rarely managed to pull off this season and that's a win from being 1-0 behind.

So, all's well that ends well and the only concern at the end of the day might be the Slade song that was playing pre-kick-off. Given the alarming thread posted on here under the heading "Wild Gone?" it was disturbing to hear Slade singing "we'll get Wild, Wild, Wild". Does Noddy Holder know something and, if so, shouldn't he be telling us? Somebody needs to tug his whiskery chops if he's winding us up . . .

Well wild got that first half totally wrong, just where was the thought process we weren't playing top of the league so why set up like that ,it was total garbage, no running off the ball no little 1 ,2's just lofted hopeful balls ,why we didn't make those substitutions at half-time only wild knows!,talking of substitutions HOW LONG do we take it's absolutely embarrassing it's averaging at least 7 minutes !
Second half ( after the substitutions,,) was better but we're still way off where we were a few months back but a win is a win!

First half we were there for the taking even by a mainly toothless AFC Wimbledon side. To say we were clueless was an understatement constantly lumping the ball forward to no one in particular wayward punt after wayward punt but saying that it definitely looked like a hand ball in the lead up to their goal and If they scored when Tyrell Warren stumbled then there was no way back for us, definitely a big turning point in the game. Second half we started off shakily but thankfully we got a foothold in the game Niall Canavan won the wrestling match and escaped the shackles of their No 5 Nightingale to head home. The gloves were well and truly off from then in and we forced home through Gordon after looking to have initially missed out in the scramble in the box. Gotts and Foley added some much needed impetus to our play.
