All still in their flip flops basking in 30 degrees of sunshine...
Thank you. Getting worried with others making signings and we have stopped. Saw we released tickets for the pre season game are we short of cash?

Owners have been quiet so far

Why do you always think the worse case in any situation?
It just might be the club being more professional!

People forget we have a successful accountant running the club he quite rightly wants to get cash in asap

The owners have stuck to their promise of new stands and that work is now going ahead.I think before any new signings are announced we will have to wait until Pete Wild knows whether any of the three ,Josh Gordon,Lillis and Kay are going to stay or go.Then he will know what finance he has to play with to bring players in.Until that time we will all have to be patient.

If they don't know now I'd be extremely worried!

Based on limited experience, they will have been given an offer and will have a certain time limit to respond.

While all that goes on everyone disappears abroad. The only people working with be the DoF and agents.

They know their budget. Anything else will need to be generated. Its good to get done early but there will be a few gems coming from higher up, who will look to play higher first.

Barrow is where it is in the food chain. The Manchester training makes matters a lot easier. We pay pretty well but aren't that attractive in the sense of size of club, like say Swindon or Bradford. So to compete we have to offer a bit more, a bit longer or more game time.

Ian Wood is fanatically keen on plugging any leaks so we get business done quietly. That's what we pay him for, while PW recharges on golden sands or whatever.

Thanks Steve. That’s pretty much what was said at the start of this thread before it went walkabout.

I can’t see the club just sitting around waiting for responses and it’s pretty clear that milestone dates will have been put in place before holidays were taken and that the DoF will be responsible for dealing with issues in the meantime.

If you look at activity across L2 since the seasons end the vast bulk of what activity has taken place has involved freelancers and engagement of loanees or returning players or extensions to contracts. In that respect Worrall’s acquisition was by current standards pretty special and not typical.

It will all change in the next few weeks.

No promise of new stands, the board had no choice but get it done or be expelled from the EFL.

Regarding Gordon,Lillis and Kay. Paul Simpson recently announced that he was giving a seven days deadline for players to decide their future at Carlisle. Decisions have now been made and he's announced he wants the bulk of next season's squad to be sorted by June 28.

Carlisle do seem far more 'on the ball' than us regarding preparations for next season. Paul Simpson has shown to his players who's the 'Boss'. If Gordon, Lillis and Kay can't make their minds up whether or not to stay - Pete Wild should do it for them - let em go!

They're obviously holding the club to ransom regarding their new contracts or waiting to see if they receive better offers from other clubs. Neither of them would be a great catch for anybody.

He’ll struggle to get it sorted by the end of the month. There was an article on Twitter last night from him saying they need to find money to sign players first

Think the fact that Paul Simpson is showing he is the boss exudes his experience.
PW still learning his trade but needs to up his game we saw his naivety in his disappointment in the way Waters left when PW gave him another chance at league football.
Personally I would give all three a dead line or get rid. Brough just gave a straight answer.
If little Carlisle can do it I assume so can we.
