Massive shout out to Rory feely. Spent most of the season out of the team and even the squad. Kept his head down waited for his chance. Canavan gets injured we all fear the worst. Feely comes in and has been outstanding

Excellent win. Played very well in tough conditions. Telford and Stockton partnership should be first choice for me, their link up play between each other and bringing the midfield into the game was superb. Won’t be many teams fancying the trip to Barrow in the play offs…..

Re: Barrow v Newport County, match thread
Excellent win in difficult conditions- a strong wind in our favour in the first half- which keeps us in a strong 6th position.
A great team effort ensured control of the game and, aside from Stockton’s well-taken 20th minute goal, assisted by Telford and struck past goalie Townsend inside the right post, we had the best of the chances. A great ball across goal by Whitfield in the 57th minute just failed to find a contact.
At the other end, Farman pulled off a fine save in the 63rd minute, punching over the bar to deny Palmer-Houlden.
Four minutes later, we nearly doubled our lead when man of the match Ray did well to win the ball, passing to Telford whose ball forward to Spence enabled a shot which went just wide of the left post. In the 76th minute, replacement goalie Maxted parried a shot from Spence, Newby firing into the side netting from the left.
To loud cheers from Barrow fans, in the dying stages ex-Bluebird Zanzala put the ball out trying to keep it in!
Attendance 3,379 including 224 from Newport.

Re: Barrow v Newport County, match thread
Thought the Bluebirds were immense today. They controlled the game in.very difficult conditions. Normal service has been resumed in defence as shown by the number of clean sheets..George Ray was brilliant today mopping up lose balls and recycling them.I think the team has at last started to click just at the right time of the season.Cole Stockton was brilliant again,I just hope we manage to make him.our own player next season. Now let,s go and dominate Grimsby on Friday and demonstrate just how good this current Barrow side is.It,s now a very exciting time to be a Barrow supporter.

Got critised for saying Telford and Whitfield should play, I rest my case ! The whole team excelled in difficult conditions, the only chance Newport had was when Warren missed the ball and a cross went right through the six yard box ,Spence straight through and Newby had good chances, the back 3 were absolutely rock solid and the midfield were brilliant. It's getting exciting ( and nervous, ) now can't wait for Easter !

According to Ian Wood, Stocktons wage at Burton is less than our top earner and we’re only paying a fraction of it

Controlled the game today and played some decent stuff in tough conditions. Looks like we've got our confidence back and the team togetherness is clearly there. The back 3 were immense today, let's not forget Farman save early in the 2nd half. Can't wait for Morecambe.
Re: Barrow v Newport County, match thread
Excellent game to watch. We were very good all game. Gotts my man of the match. Back to being invincible.
Once Warren went off I had absolutely nothing to moan about

Just say no to VAR
Re: Barrow v Newport County, match thread
Agreed. Steal if he gets us anywhere near promotion
Re: Barrow v Newport County, match thread
We shouldn’t fear any [SwearFilter] in this league on our day. Not a clue what this team could achieve but I wouldn’t be shocked with any possible outcome.
